The Road is an oppressive but enriching book. The film did beautifully too

Thank you for those! I think they're all set in America because you chose American/ English speaking writers. Would be really cool to do a video on foreign post-apocalyptic books

The idea of The Postman was stolen from Lucifer's Hammer by Niven and Pournelle.

Birdbox was such an awful movie on Netflix, I can't do it.

I’ve recently tried my hand at writing a post apocalyptic book because even though I love the genre I felt it’s all become sort of stale and wanted to a try a fresh spin on the zombie narrative. I would love to hear your thoughts about it if you have the time, though it’s probably not that good since it’s my first book.

It’s called Deadeyes by JoVontae T.M. James

Recently subscribed due to your dark tower journey, which I’m thoroughly enjoying and can’t wait for more. Must say I expected World War Z in this list. But well done loving your content.

I have the road on my shelf and you have me all the more excited to read it now. I tried something else by emily st mandel and it was meh. I will give her a second chance with station eleven because it sounds like I started in the wrong place. Loved bird box and it was such a good book. Beats the film by far. And so creepy. I have the girl with all the gifts and need to get to it. Parable of the sower is great and octavia e butler >>> Ooh will need to read the book of m as well

Great choices on here like The Road The Girl with all the Gifts and The Stand as well as a few I hadn’t come across but will definitely check out now.

Not sure if they qualify but my list would include I Am Legend by Richard Mathewson and World War Z by Max Brooks

I've only read Station Eleven and The Passage trilogy from your list. I enjoyed both. I lol when you said I love dogs and I maybe love them more than people and that makes me unique🤣🤣🤣 Everything happens in America😂😂 Again. I've added quite a few unto my TBR. Love this video. Keep them coming.

About all these American apocalypses: look, you lot already had John Christopher. (And seriously, some of those hold up really well, even now.)

More recently there’s Tim Lebbon and his amazing zombie novella series starting with “The Naming of Parts”, among other British apocalypses. And Big Finish’s ongoing The Survivors series is a worthy companion to the original.

Awesome video, your enthusiasm is infectious! Sniff...you had me at "I Love Dogs." I think your channel deserves to grow and achieve greatness, you have serious charisma man. I would seriously recommend "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon, the greatest novel of all time.

‘The end of the World, it’s FANTASTIC!!’ Haha brilliant, couldn’t agree more! 😀
Great video and thank you, I’ve definitely added some books to my DGR (definitely gonna read) list!

I love your videos!
I have a suggested read for you. You should check out "Swan Song" by Robert R. McCammon. It is a world that is trying to survive after a nuclear apocalypse. It is like The Stand in that there is a battle between Good and Evil.
