Day in the Life of a Japanese Knife Maker

I own a Miyabi chef's knife. It was super expensive, but I'm a cooking enthusiast and I use it for almost everything in the kitchen. It's an amazing, high-quality product, the best knife I've ever owned hands-down.

I had no idea they all come from this factory, so it made this one extra neat to watch, knowing my knife was also born on that very assembly line.

I bought in Italy from a resealer two knives MIYABI 4000 FC i pay 300€for 1 gyutoh 24cm and Kudamono 9 cm and both knives have the blades bend.
The quality control of Miyabi knives are inexistent.
I was very disappointed with this brand.

The Japanese do everything with such pride. Even something as minute as making paper or pencils.

Please make a video on Japanese optical lense production for cameras microscopes telescopes. I have visited lense production in Leitz in Wetzlar Germany. Germany and Japan are best in optical instruments.

Japanese knives are very very good. I lived in Germany near Solingen and have bought knives made by Zwillinge, also other steel products like scissors manicure set.. There was a shop in Schadoplatz in Düsseldorf where rejects from Zwillinge factories were on sale I was interested in those high quality steel products folding knives etc. High chromium vanadium steel blades. . I am a metallurgical engineer and so understand steel heat treatment procedures Rockwell hardness tester and interested in collecting few steel products from Solingen factories.

Zwilling knives can be easily be confused with the heinkel ones that have 1 man instead of 2 men on the logo. Zwilling knives are loads better.

well its a German knife factory they are good knifs in germany as well but more for premium consumer. pros go f.dick or giesser or victorinox.

Interesting, they walk on the Stairs on the right side, as the traffic in most of the world and not on the left side like in japan or GB.

Having a large living space in a quiet, beautiful area, short drive to work, being active with walking, meeting with numerous people a day, learning and memorizing knife patterns and sharpness... yeah this seems like the best career so far!!!! So cool! I think seeing a bartender would be cool as well
