I still find leadership hard to take seriously when the strongest correlation to being a CEO is not resume or education. Its Height.
Want to be a leader? Be over 6'2".
Please can you do me a favour? Various MBA and Graduate programmes around the world are using this talk as part of their module on leadership, which is a great way to spread good ideas! I'd love to know where it's being used, so if you're on an MBA or a graduate programme and that's why you're watching this talk, please (a) add the name of your course and university in reply to this comment and (b) like this comment to keep it at the top so we can keep it up to date. If your course is already on there just like this comment rather than adding a comment. Thank you, and have a great week!

ОтветитьJust 2 lessons. I love it and it makes so much sense to me. Thank you.
ОтветитьA leader doesn't take 17 minutes and 26 seconds to say two things.
ОтветитьBriliant! Rule #1 - We- not- Me Orientation!
ОтветитьNice representation.

ОтветитьThe key goblin lol
ОтветитьThank you! Absolutely love this🙏🏻
ОтветитьGreat talk. I liked the lessons from history.
ОтветитьWho brings a baby to a Ted talk??
ОтветитьUm, and what about the chocolate? Please don’t tell me it was found within, I don’t think I could handle that. How did the end product of both stories come together in the end?
ОтветитьAmazing presentation...
ОтветитьGreat job Pete and thank you!
ОтветитьLoved your talk. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you
ОтветитьWow this was extremely insightful. I'm going to change my job because of my boss and this was very educational
ОтветитьSo simple, yet so many companies make things much more difficult than they have to be. All under the guise of "improvement." My husband's company is no different. They have spent no telling how much money on a "management guru," who in my opinion is rude, judgmental and does not have a complete understanding of what he is doing. He has a, we will call it, a management cookbook, that has worked for him. He thinks he has the only path to success.
Apologies I digress.
I will give him credit for making the 4wk look-ahead easier. But honestly, what the company is suffering from is the "Peter Principle."
Management is out of touch, they expect the field to be accountable (and they are), but the people in the office never hold themselves accountable. Afterall, they are the ones who end up hiring these inexperienced, and in some cases, literally crazy people who cause most of the issues in the field. They expect their foremen and superintendents to assume (yes, I said it) the blame when they themselves are the people who hire these guys without checking a reference and they are the ones who are buying into the BS the new hires are selling.
Sorry, I guess I needed to get that off my chest.
Annnny way, I enjoyed the video.
D
AWESOME!!!
ОтветитьNever heard of chocolate hobnobs. Amazon, don't let me down!
ОтветитьThat’s a terrible idea about leadership. Poorly dressed not funny and made absolute no sense. He is mainly talking about ownership but he also quotes some terrible leaders.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьFinally
Words i can kind of understand. Be great.
X. To each other
Your dollars.
For ten days.
Go big truckers
It is true that leadership comes from service, like Jesus, his passion is the son/servant of God,
he cures the sickness people not for money, he teaches us how to love others like love myself. He changes people by giving himself in the cross.
Hands down the best TED talk in a long while (and it is still circulating after 5 years)
ОтветитьvERY iNSPIRING!
ОтветитьWhat a well researched talk, kudos to you man!
ОтветитьIt's so different: what makes you a good leader, versus how we should respond to others who are leaders. For ourselves, we should earn respect and not rely on designated authority. Plus, never appear to lack an answer or a task to perform. Turning that around as to how we deal with our leaders, remember Catch-22. Most leaders want one thing only: like us...
Ответитьe very good segment! thank you.
ОтветитьWhat a life changing and giving talk.
Thanks a lot.
It's not about you; It's only about you; and listen.
ОтветитьMy two cents is: 1. Lead by example. 2. Give'm what they want.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this - thank you for a really powerful and interesting talk
ОтветитьAmazing talk , I completely agree with you
ОтветитьYour lesson is a guidance for many. Thank you so much for sharing. Best wishes for you and your family.
ОтветитьPowerful!! Simple but not easy!

"Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power"
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьReally great stuff
ОтветитьNice!!
ОтветитьHow does this apply to COVID? Are today’s leaders not applying rules 1 and 2? Are they leading not for their people, those they serve, but for themselves?
