Now that I have been practicing intermittent fasting the past 8 months and removed sugar in my diet but also started taking vitamins B complex, magnesium, vitamin D and Omega 3, reduced my coffee and managed stress, now for the first time in at least 3 years I haven’t been getting up at night (only once at most if ever), no longer suffer from anxiety and sleeping at least 8 hours sleep again.

ОтветитьI wanted to ask why I've been waking up 6.30 am every morning? when I'm use to waking up after 10. After waking up at 6.30 I can't seem to fall asleep again when usually if this use to happen I could go back to sleep straight away.

I don’t consume sugar or complex carbohydrates. Eat mostly fruit, veggies/salads and meat.
I’ve had sleeping problems my whole life but lately it’s been awful. I’m only able to sleep one hour at a time and it’s driving me crazy.. 😫

ОтветитьVitamin D can be very good but it is possible to get too much. I have osteopenia and take a calcium citrate supplement with D, also a multivitamin that has D, and for some time I was taking D3 in addition to that. To make a long story short, I was getting irritable, angry and anxious and attributed it to job stress. About that time I went to the doctor for my annual physical, and he discovered in my blood work that I had excessively high levels of D (over 100). I cut back on the D. My levels went back down to 84 (the high side of normal) and I noticed I was less irritable. I found out later from reading something on the Web that the irritability and anxiety can be symptoms of vitamin D toxicity. So if you're going to take a lot, make sure your primary care doctor checks your vitamin D blood levels once or twice a year.

ОтветитьI think the reason I am awake in the middle of the night is hormonal: I'm 59 and have had trouble sleeping since menopause. The best way to get back to sleep -- and I know you're going to hate this, Dr. Berg, but it works -- is to get up and eat some carbs. Two pieces of buttered whole wheat toast, or some cheese and crackers, or if I really want a powerful punch, Ramen noodles. I'm trying to cut my carbs but it's the only thing that works in the middle of the night.

ОтветитьI purchased your D3 and K2 supplement. I take nutritional yeast too. It doesn't seem to help. I have had insomnia issues for years. I was tested for sleep apnea and I am negative. How do we test our PH and cortisol levels ? My blood sugar is fine. I fall asleep but wake up around 2:30 AM and just lay there until its time to get up. I do notice that i tend to be bloated and gassy at night which is uncomfortable and could be waking me up. Any ideas for that ? Thanks !

ОтветитьWent to the doctor. Cortisol levels are normal. Dealing with insomnia here. Things have been improving since working on gut health. Things are starting to improve. I believe that started after taking a course of antibiotics for a bad cold I had for two months. Walking 5 to 7 miles a day using a artificial light box. I got an Amazon every morning for several hours. Got blue blocking glasses for TV at night. Doing intermittent fasting and I do not eat or drink after 7 PM. Making improvements. There’s a lot of garbage on the grocery store shelves I put 90% of it back on the shelf, cane sugar, caffeine alcohol MSG nothing but crap on the shelf. I wonder supposed vegan food the worst stuff I’ve seen of ingredients.

ОтветитьI don't think Kombucha has the same effect on everybody. I can drink it at any time and feel just fine. No jitters por problems with sleep
