Man love this tank and want to go natural. I want to use my 55 gal. Any vids on 50-60g tanks ?
ОтветитьWould be very interesting to know how the tank would have looked after a year or two...
ОтветитьI would like to have such opportunities to try out everything possible in aquarium keeping!
ОтветитьHi..how did this tank do...can you give an update?
ОтветитьGood man.....I know you hear this all the time....but you're absolutely incredible...not just the tech skills and talent but the amazing positive energy you give your off during your videos is amazing. I bet folks who never aquascaped before have gotten into it because of being inspired by your positively awesome videos
ОтветитьBeautiful!
ОтветитьI’d love the info for whatever hose setup you’re using that clips onto the sink! 🙏🏽😊
ОтветитьIt's clear you're not a gardener! :)
ОтветитьWhat's the Aroid behind the Rotala?
ОтветитьBest way to do a freshwater tank!
ОтветитьHi! What do you do with the fishpoo?
Because, you don't really clean these eco-tanks, right? After 2 days my bottom is scattered of schrimp poo, and I have just 3 schrimps in the tankt right now.
Is this what I need snails for? Or did I misunderstand the cleaning part?
Plants take nutrients, from the water.
ОтветитьI loved seeing him take the time to pick the pebbles out of the top soil, and then putting a substrate that’s 50% pebbles
Ответитьhaha damn if that was me doing it i would have forgotten i had the tank filling up while doing something else!
ОтветитьSo with no gravel vac at all, I assume dirted tanks are full of ditritus and ditritus worms. While I appreciate the 'natural' state of a dirted tank, I'm not certain I can stand looking at that mess every day.
ОтветитьI have a 1 acre mud pond which to me means it get it water from rain and land runoff and not a creek or spring. Should I use the mud and plants that are in my pond or just use my topsoil and bought plants? There are all kinds of little critters in the mud/leaf bottom and i'm not sure if some might be bad for this type of tank? Could I use the water out of the pond or just use the well water since it's more likely not to change in ph or other levels?
ОтветитьI know this is 8 months ago, but would you consider doing a video showing the Father Fish method?
Ответитьaccturealy you are doing it all wrong :) deffently to mutch aquascaper in you ;D first off all you ned 1 inch of soil (potting soil or water lilje soil) on top off that you ned 2 inch of sand. and to the this metod RIGHT you have to collect pond or lake water to get in the beaficial bacterie and live criters that has to be in an accturealy naturely eco system. what you did her is NOT the metod you mention, fare from........but it looks go doe.
Ответитьwrong soil, you want POTTING soil :)
ОтветитьWould love to see an update for this tank
Ответитьstunning yet simple tank
ОтветитьTelling me not to like made me like
ОтветитьFather Fish channel has a much better improvement on the Walstead method. Definitely check it out. I'll never go back to gravel ever again. Why the industry pushes gravel makes sence because it kill fish which is great for business
ОтветитьMy husband was An Air Force Officer Enivironmental Engineer. They were fined if the dirt they were disturbing was not kept moist and watered down in order to keep the dust controled around the population because of known and unknown toxins. My guess is you moisten the dirt to control dust. Just my guess. Thank you as always for your sharing with us, your gifted skills and of course: your genius. 😁✌🏼🙏🏼🖖🏼🐠🥰
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the device you use to fill the tanks with water? And the one you use to drain it?
Ответитьgreat video, i wonder if this soil is a regular plant soil or it is for aquarium plants?, other question: is necessary an air stone in this type of aquarium?
ОтветитьGreat Job. I was looking for ideas for scaping my new 20G Long Betta Tank and the 55G room-divider Community Aquarium. I am upsizing both Aquariums now that I know that physically I can do this.
With torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders, a fractured 3rd rib, and a few fractured vertebrates been serious issues until now.
I will be doing this slowly as I am 70 and still have co-pays, etc. I have been buying the ingredients to building a Walstead/Father Fish Substrate.
My fish are doing well in my 6.6 Betta Tank and my 3 Quarantine Tanks of Fish, Snails, Rocks, Driftwood, and Plants... and Ceramic BioMedia that have been sitting in the Tank building up Biological Bacteria and Biofilm awaiting to go into these new tanks.
Since my first Aquarium where I did not learn about not capping the Fluval Stratum Stratum in the past... had caused me problem back in October when I started my first Aquarium. Out of frustration, I emptied my tank into a 5G Quarantine Tank, rinsed the gravel to get rid of the Fluval Stratum. I rinsed it into a food-safe bucket for future use. I just used straight gravel and fertilize.
Since then, I have done a lot more research and have a better idea of what makes a more stable Aquarium. I have the sand, and have most of the ingredients for this Substrate Mix. I got a few in the mail so I am much closer to having all of the needed ingredients. I'll be using some of the Seachem Red Flourite in this mix since it is a Clay product. I have the Fluval Stratum and will use a bit in the mix since I have it. Between making this Substrate Mix with the Aquatic PeatMoss that I used in the 6.6G will be diluted between the 55G and with the 20G Long Aquariums. I still have to get just plain Topsoil for this mix. I won't be using the different MiracleGrow Soil Mixes that I had in storage as they will not work now, but the Akadama (Clay) Bonsai Soil Amendment and the Crushed Lava Rock will be terrific as it provides lil places for the Biological Bacteria to grow in. I have a handful of Substrate, Water-Filter, and some Floating Plants from a nice family in our local Aquarium Club that was a blessing. And, some Floating Plants and tank water from another Club Member. This plus some from each of my tanks we be a real Bless to jump start the Biological Filter in these 2 new tank setups.
Great Look. As always, you did a great video. Not to fast for this woman still healing from the post concussion traumatic brain injury.
These dwaf barbs are awesome. First time I've seen them. It's a pity they require cooler water as I'd put them in my community tank. I need another aquarium I guess😂
Ответитьcan i use normal quasoil for walstad ?? im planning to try walstad for my shrimp im enjoying watching your vid
ОтветитьHow do you do maintenance on your no filter tank?
ОтветитьIf I want a gentle water flow in a low tech tank what is recommended?

ОтветитьAm I the only person who can't get duckweed to grow? Keeps just clogging my filters
ОтветитьJust a question, don't you need to cycle the tank first? Im setting up a small fishbowl walstad method with shrimp and i read that i should let it cycle for a month?
