PS2 had a higher quantity of games, but a lot of their exclusives beyond their own franchises were amazingly shit. Because of their ability to play DVDs, and potentially low licensing fees it just meant any schmuck could get games out on the system. The PS2 had the lowest specs compared to other consoles, and even the DVD feature seems so-so because remember, it's Sony.

The Dreamcast didn't have nearly as much shovelware, but plenty of ambition.

Someone needs to remake this with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

I actually chose the PS2 as a kid instead of the Dreamcast (because my cousin told me it would be the better console), but I certainly knew the Dreamcast existed, and I really feel like I missed out by not choosing it. The Dreamcast had the Sonic Adventure games, and back then I actually remember growing frustrated because I couldn't play the new 3D Sonic games-- because I had a PS2. I also remember going to my cousin's house when they had a Dreamcast, and being totally addicted to Crazy Taxi.

The Dreamcast would've been a much better fit for me than the PS2, without a doubt.
