How To: Setup pfSense Router on OVH ESXi Server with Failover IP (Step by Step)

Hey Winter Tech, thanks for doing this. I have a question for you. Do you have instructions on the ESXi configurations and the PFsense Configurations on how to setup VLAN's on OVH? I'm trying to do the following:

Setup a LAN Portgroup on ESX with the VLAN ID = 0
Setup a VLAN110 Portgroup on ESX with VLAN ID = 110
Setup a VLAN120 Portgroup on ESX with VLAN ID = 120

Then on PFsense,
I setup VLAN 110 to use VMX2 (I've matched the corresponding MAC address)
I setup VLAN 120 to use VMX3 (I've matched the corresponding MAC address)

When I setup another VM and assign it to the LAN, I can PIng the pfsense gateway of the LAN
But when I switch up the Portgroup on the same VM to VLAN110 and change the IP Address to the subnet of the VLAN, I can not ping the pfsense gateway of VLAN110

Any idea?

some people may need to do this after to get browsing to work, only ICMP packets is working.... go to:, Advanced > Disable hardware checksum offload.
