Dual bios should be on every motherboard

Me watching this on my 10 year old pc and haven’t ever updated bios…

I have ddr5-6000 128gb but it can only Run at 3800 Speed,
If i Change the Profile to a Higher Speed. Then the PC wont Boot.
And i checked the Motherboard,
And support it

I f***ed up my BIOS during an update. I did everything right and it just failed anyways. So I don’t recommend taking the risk of updating if you don’t explicitly need any of the new features.

Luckily I was able to fix the BIOS with USB flash, but that option isn’t available on every motherboard.

There are Major Security Updates for BIOS that many ppl are completely unaware of...

i updated my B550 gaming x v2 on the newest update to fix the TPM2.0 problem but it still not registered in my Windows (i do acitivate everything in the bios)

Am5 and ryzen 7000, absolutely update your bios to fix the voltage issue

Never knew that Bios updates are stressful, takes me 10 minutes to download it, unpack it to a USB drive, plug it in, restart PC, enter into bios update mode, and update it😂

I always flash the bios, but I don't use beta cap files.

Updated bios this morning and now i get black screen of death. Yay!

I have 7 bios updates available for my motherboard, can I install latest one?
or I need to install all of them in order?

BIOS update is 3 clicks literally, why not do it all the time they release a new one ?

i accidentally updated it without knowing what it was bc an update was recommended & now while everything runs fine, same as before, the fans are louder/more sensitive :// new laptop too

The old recommendation was always "Just don't update it, it's not worth bricking your system."

I have 5600k processor but I wanna update the bios so I can use 7850k processor but. I can't find same copy for my 5600k bios version. Because I'm afraid If update it to compatible with the 7850k processor. I can no longer use the 5600k processor because I have tried to overclock these 5600k processor up to 4GHz max to 4.60GHz before I'm amazed that it can run but need good CPU cooler because it force shutdown because of overheat. Porfomence are AA .Bios start up are under 2 second

I have updated my Bios a few times but only if needed to improve system Stability and fix bugs otherwise I leve her alone if there is no problems leve her alone or you can make problems. 😊

dont be nonsensical, bios update is a must, it can let your motheboard use better and more capacites of NEW and PRESENT hardware, or no you cant use new hardware, BUT this happened to me, i bought a used ASUS motheboard and updated the BIOS, but my motherboard FAILED the failsafe update. even if new bios was installed CORRECTLY and reported total SUCCESS , but it wouldnt reboot, so i presumed ASUS designed the motheboard itself badly.

Windows 11 auto updates the bios. Trash OS, gonna have to switch to linux.

I have a server that’s the last bios updated was the same date I went to basic training in the Airforce. Never updating it

did a bios update and my pc would not boot after. not wanting to risk trying to fix it myself AND my pc was in warranty i just took it back and they fixed it within a few days. if u don't have a backup pc it's painful (luckly i did, can't imagine living without pc when everything i do is on pc - including work). i'm probably never going to do a bios update myself ever again.
if i did want to tho i'd prob get a ups tho idk how expensive and reliable they are, just seems like a nuisance. i feel that if u build a pc that does not need a bios update, you won't ever really need one (unless you need a hardware replacement that needs it but by then you're probably better off doing a full upgrade)

After updating my BIOS, the bottom 1% of FPS has improved for me, much less occasional micro-stutters.

I bought my Gigabtye motherboard and and AMD cpu 3 or 4 years ago.
I installed a new SSD drive as my C drive and
Now everytime I have to re boot I get "Please insert boot drive"
The only way roud this that I have found is to press F12 while rebooting and then go tino my BIOS (EFI) Boot Manager and chosing the irght SSD card.
This is very annoying and problematic due to power cuts a d Windows updates and software installs that require re-boots.

I have never ever updated a mother boards BIOS and thought I should try it.
But after reading up on it and finding that according to my BIOS updates note I have to go through several step to get to the latest one, _ I decied to not do it.
I cannot afford anything to go wrong as my pc is sort of mission critiical for me.

You should 100% update. There are tons of undocumented changes in each patch, some of which could drastically improve performance.

Dell and HP machines become slow in Windows without bios updates. You don't need the latest version, but you need a recent(ISH) version. Currently dealing with 100+ Hp G9 450 laptops, that run slow, freeze and won't install windows updates without it.

Tbh I have very weak nerves. That said even if my PC "survived" a BIOS update, I would have serious doubts if I'd survive the procedure LOL

Yeah, my Pc been crashing, blue screening, and freezing randomly. It stopped happening but it started happening again yesterday. I might have to update the BIOS. I've had this PC for like 3 years, never updated it so it's prolly' in need of it.

My moms laptop keyboard stopped working once. It was a high-end computer, too. Turns out, I just had to update the BIOS to make it work again.

Ill save everyone 6 minutes and 34 seconds: YES. Do it. Always. The laptop I have released was running a BIOS from 2021 where they released an update in May.. of this year. It fixed a bug with recording and god knows how many security holes I patched 😂

I had to update the bios on my AB350-GAMING motherboard. There was a bug in the usb code that was causing one specific device (my Oculus Rift) to crash the usb audio device. Updating fixed it.
