What I love the most is that they go to the effort with the costumes, hiring the location, the fancy camera shots and they just do one take and say that'll do, no need to re-do it.

Love how utterly pointless this sketch is, both corpsing and deliberately ruining it for each other. Mild antagonism. Not shaking your hand, go on then let's shake hands. Nothing is resolved. Nothing was sold.

Im not sure if i would want to meet a character like George Dawes from the clip....i would most certainly get my head punched off my shoulders

I do this all the time in shops: if the shopkeeper laughs I say "Let me have this free if you laugh?"
It's never worked.

One of my favourite things about this sketch that often gets missed is when Matt Lucas’s character states angrily “Do you think I’m gonna shake your hand” and then he immediately shakes his hand 😂

So, did they
(a) stick rigidly to the script
(b) deviate slightly from the script
(c) lose the script then try to remember it
(d) script? What script?

This is hilarious even Bob and Matt can’t keep straight faces. I’m sure after a few seconds whatever script they had goes out the window they’re just both laughing and ad libbing. Matt especially at the end can’t hold it together!
