God bless any and all ATC's. You guys are incredible
Ответитьi am truly excited to hopefully join! my stepfather is a retired ATC manger, he went from Chicago to ATL to Memphis to B-HAM, he said i could do it and i trust him. the top of the Memphis tower is my personal favorite view!
ОтветитьI designed Air Traffic Control systems, you’d be amazed how unsophisticated an airport tower is, only the best towers have surface movement control systems. Most towers use a radar display, paper strips, weather monitoring, and the old reliable Mark One Eyeball 👁️
ОтветитьMad respect for ATC workers. Especially the ones during 9/11 dealing with landing all the planes in the country.
ОтветитьI still cant wrap my head around how the human brain even has the capacity to do that job, hats off to all of you ATC's!!
ОтветитьROOOOOOOOOOOOLANDO!!!!! It's good to know that Rally's hair is as gray as mine. ATC will do that to you!
ОтветитьWe’ll se how busy it really is.. I have a microsofts flights sims
Ответитьhow is atlanta the busiest airport and not one of those UAE airport like doha/dubai since they are literally located in the middle of the world (hub)... or maybe singapore?
ОтветитьAir traffic controllers have insane pressure, they have to be very smart. At least here in Sweden. I think it's a bunch of tests and IQ tests and stuff to get in. But the salary is also superhigh
ОтветитьSounds simple.
ОтветитьHigh stress job!
ОтветитьHello am in Zambia a country in south east Africa, just got employed as an air traffic controller at a small airport, with very few traffic how do I make my self better.
Ответитьmy dad retired as atc and i just got my job offer. still have to make it through training but im crying in joy i can take after my amazing father hopefully. just the opportunity to be a atc is a blessing. thank you to all the men and women keeping the airways safe.
ОтветитьIs it just me finding out that the windows in the air track control room are opaque😅 I thought they be see through to also give some visual aid in helping control air traffic😆
ОтветитьHow do you deal with technical difficulties?
ОтветитьIf it weren’t for Long Beach, John Wayne,Ontario, and Burbank taking some of the load from LAX it would be the busiest in the world.
Ответить$150k / year is not remotely worth the stress of this shit. Especially in recent years of inflation.
ОтветитьMy speech therapy.
ОтветитьThese guys are low key high functioning board game tragedy.
ОтветитьWow that’s Stressful even tho it looks like they’re used to it
ОтветитьImagine this job in the days cocaine was legal and readily available... my dear God...
Then the days they got rid of cocaine and demanded intelligence with no moral work ethics...
Then they finally get ethics and I bet there’s still a lot of bullshit these people go through.
I'm studying to be an air traffic controller and it is insane😭
Ответитьthis looks, sounds, and actually is hard as hell. but man, i would love to spend at least one day on a control tower to experience a normal day (well, maybe not this control tower lmao, big respect to this people)
ОтветитьI frequently say a prayer for all pilots in the air and active air traffic controllers. Also for the air craft mechanics. What a responsibility they all have. God Bless you.
ОтветитьI think they should be payed at least 200K. Just think about the responsibility. Just one aircraft coming in with 400 people hardly no visibility and lands save Wow. the people exit with not thinking what was behind all this landing. Again 200K min I would be glad to pay more for the ticket. Thank you all for the fantastic work.I'm being awn-est I could never do it.
Ответитьim starting a one year training program for becoming air traffic controller, is it 24/7 stress? or is it less stressing in smaller airports?
ОтветитьThat was really interesting! I learned a lot!
Ответить30 planes ✈️ at a time?
Man i only remember to go to work, go home, eat, text my girl and brush my teeth 😂😂😂😂
190,000 flights per year? 😂 Try closer to 1,000,000. Heck, even the airport I control had 250,000. Atlanta is next level crazy, busy.
ОтветитьWorlds airports.pilots.lees sons is a pilot.
ОтветитьNot sure why can't ATC be automated.. like traffic lights
ОтветитьIstanbul also has 5 runways similar to this airport impressive how massive they are
ОтветитьI like that physical strips are still used. I guess having physical strips is conceptually helpful
ОтветитьCan’t talk about standard ATC terminology at ATL without mentioning that (for obvious reasons) they use Dixie instead of Delta for taxiway D.
ОтветитьI want to do air traffic control in South Africa
ОтветитьAfter watching that video, I feel like they're not paid enough lol
Ответить12 - 59 months for training ? Seems like an okay job level of stressful seeing how fast the guy speaks. His idea and level of content can reduce less to finish his idea faster. Speaking fast is important. Not sure how difficult it is but I think with 12 months of training. You should be good for the job. Not sure why there’s no Asian or other ethnicity in the field seeing how mentally stressful the job is they should excel in it
ОтветитьAccording to FAA website, ATC salary during training period is less than 40K, no thanks. I’ve aged out regardless
ОтветитьThey make it sound a lot harder than it really is
Ответитьi'm currently working as an ATC here in India and boy the work is tough and stressful sometimes but we are trained for these for years . Salary wise its good 👍😊 but the risk and accountability is huge cause too many lives are in your hands and this is the main reason why ATC is one of the most stressful job in the world 🌎 !!!!
Ответитьi thought Heathrow was the busiest airport in the world 😅
ОтветитьControlling 30 planes at once is about 25 planes too many. I think it's unsafe and something should be done about it. This info is hair raising, along w/ my eyebrows. Makes me think twice about flying now. It's a big wonder how they don't have to manage 40 planes . it's ridiculous. It's asking for trouble. It's unsafe.🤔
ОтветитьThey had a break on 9.11 when all aircraft were grounded!
Ответитьseems like this is much harder than being a pilot
ОтветитьI’m stressed out watching the intro🫣
ОтветитьAnd I thought my job was hard 😂
ОтветитьRADIO ETIQUETTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TWO-TWO-TWO.
ОтветитьStress is why these guys make bank. No hires after 30, and they usually age out by 40-45 or move into management.
ОтветитьThe view must be pretty up there
Ответить
