ОтветитьThank you! This talk really helps me in my English speaking. My problem is, I want to speak good English with people so much, however, I am too self-awared that I don't afford to make a mistake. With the wisdom you share with us in this Ted talk, I will carry it in my journey of English learning and apply it in the conversation with everyone around me. Once again, thank you!

Ответитьthank you for every thing .
Ответитьthis video was really useful for me to have a good attitude to learn English😊
Ответить1. The speaker speaks from the view of an observer rather than from a practitioner who's learned a foreign language. Apparently when she speaks her own sentences she doesn't speak the same way Faizal does, or the other pharmacy person did, or the Japanese engineer did, because she's presenting a speech where she's giving arguments and elaborating them with necessary examples.
2. The examples of the internet cafe, the pharmacy and the hot dog are about only daily conversational English. If you want to conversationally function not only as a passive participant, but also as an active one, especially when a complex elaboration is required, correctness in all English skills are the foundation. This is also true in all language, including our mother tongue. So,
Why not master English as an art if you truly need to use it at a more advanced level when you need, so your thoughts are successfully delivered both subjectively and objectively? Most importantly, to carry the subtle meaning or connotation you want to deliver. In reverse, if the other person's delivery also carries such connotation you'll be able to get it, like in your mother tongue.
In speaking English, it's not just the choices of phrases, words or grammar that carry those functions, but also the sounds. This is why pronunciation matters. So,
Why not master it if you want and can, like any other tool you've learned in life, including your mother tongue?
All in all, I think her advice on a calm attitude and focusing on the other person and getting the result can be helpful for both all English levels and all languages a conversation is spoken in. They are immensely helpful for non-native speakers who think their English is bad can start dusting off their fear, breathing more comfortably and function well in conversational English. Yet as explained, if you have your personal conversational needs in the foreign language you're learning, and if you can advance it, go ahead, but always remind yourself to adjust your use of it to the other person you're talking to.
Always remind myself: "This is a thought, it's just a thought. I don't have to believe it. I don't have to act on it, I don't have to fight it. I can let it pass through."
Ответить😍😍😍😍
ОтветитьI'm really get a lot information here, so we should focus to get the result, at least people can understand what do you mean
ОтветитьI am a beginner at speaking english.. It’s the 3 rd time i am continue to learn it.. But i don’t know why at the midtime i am demotivated and stop there. Why can not i continuously do that 😢😢why i am so lazy 😔

ОтветитьBe focused on speaking English and keep practicing.
"Practice makes men perfect"
where is faisal by the way ? come on faisal, show yourself up.. hahaa
ОтветитьIn my view, it's essential to learn and practice in order to build a foundation for communicating.Ordinary people might have trouble conveying their thoughts without basic vocabulary.
I assume that practice makes confidence.
