I liked Dirge of Cerberus back when it was first released but today it is very much outdated and probably would not be as enjoyable.
It also stars my favourite character and I really enjoyed learning more about the background of Vincent :)

I agree that it basically did everything in its power to push people away, but Mobius clicked with me just right. One of my all time favorite combat systems paired with immaculate music / art and some of the best FF mainline crossover content I've ever seen. I found WoL to be extremely relatable, and even have the very first (possibly only?) japanese art book signed by WoL's voice actor who is also a huge FF fan.

Explorers should be in a tier on its own. its horrible. absolutely horrible. And Yes, FF Tactics is immaculate. :)

Joe, I heavily disagree with you on FFXIV Endwalker with regards to Meteion. I think it's a very good payoff. Except for 6, most final bosses don't reveal themselves until the end of the game. In X and V you don't really know who the actual puppetmaster is until late. So I don't think revealing her and defeating her in the same expansion is a bad thing. If you look at the lore, she makes too much sense to be an accident, it's something they've been hinting at for a very long time. Something to note is that Dynamis ties into Limit Break and the ability the player has always had to rise above their mortal limits. Having that power named and explored, then fighting against a final boss wielding that very power against us is very poignant. I think it has a very strong message as well, that by uniting in spite of and even because of our differences is the only way to achieve any lasting peace. That's at least how I interpreted it. There's also so many scenes in that expansion that made my cheer or cry that I just can't put it any lower than my #1 personally. I feel like a lot of those points should also hit for most audiences, so I'd give it a high ranking even objectively, basing it purely on narrative construction.

Tactics advance finally getting the recognizition it deserves. I saw so many complaints from people who thought the story wasn't mature enought due to the age of the charactersr, but it's pretty deep and reminded me of the matrix.

Yes! Fellow TA and X-2 enjoyer, both for the same reason, tho I don't seem to recall X-2's story to be "garbage" tier as the last time I played it I was in high school. But the gameplay and the soundtrack are top tier for me, not to mention the "change job on the fly" mechanic, although a bit of annoying because it's dependent on the placement of the dresspheres

100% agree that FFX-2 is pretty much the pinnacle of ATB combat. I just really really really dislike the "Tidus Lives" ending. If they had leaned more into the idea of Yuna going on a journey; accepting his death through the course of the game and moving on I think I would like it much more.

Gosh I miss Chocobo Tales, the card battle system was so much fun

I was NOT expecting Ergheiz to make the list, holy shit. I've heard of Dimensions but never tried, I thought you couldn't get it anymore. Also very sad that I never got to try Mobius.

I get the feeling you're probably gonna end up putting my beloved XI in A or B tier, though I will forever contend it deserves to be S tier, on par with if not better than it's younger sibling 14.

And you're goddamn right Tactics is S Tier. It is FUCKING CRIMINAL that they have done nothing with it since.

If they would just take the combat system from The Last Remnant and apply it to FFT, you would have the most banger SRPG of all time.

FFVII Remake is tops for me. I absolutely can’t wait for Rebirth….it’s easily my most anticipated game of all time.

FFX was my favorite game of all time for 19 years until Remake came out. But it’s still easily one of my favorite games.

A2 has to be closer to A1. It might fall short in the story and character department but gameplay and content wise its a huuuuge step up.
