That would've been the last moments of that guy had the GCAS not caught it.
~690knots under 10,000ft....fuck
Collision avoidance at mach or almost mach, insane
ОтветитьHe was 3 seconds aways from hitting the deck…
ОтветитьDaaamn 9.1G at Mach 1.15...JFC.
This Auto GCAS system is amazing. Completely saved his life.
Can someone explain why and who is screaming recover recover? Is that before or after the jet corrected the mistake? I thought it does it without anyone saying anything and the pilot is unconscious so who's screaming?
Ответитьwhy does the screen say "vaqueros"? Thats spanish for "cowboys"...is that their team nickname or something?
ОтветитьWell deserved for the Collier Trophy
ОтветитьHere come the TOPGUN experts😂
ОтветитьHundreds of millions in RD yet the camera is a BW potato
ОтветитьI love the “FLY UP!” noise
ОтветитьF-18 fleet was ordered to install Auto-GCAS in 2018 according to Defense Daily. This system has already saved the lives of F-16 pilots. The team that created it won the Collier Trophy.
ОтветитьWow, pulled over 9gs in the recovery all the way down to 4000 ft. on the verge of supersonic. No question, he’s dead without the gcas.
Ответить"2 Recover, 2 RECOVER, 2 RECOVER" 1 def was pissing himself after witnessing his friend almost fall to the ground
ОтветитьIt's beautiful. I can watch it over and over.
ОтветитьI'm not a pilot, why were others shouting to pilot to recover? Hopes they'd regain consciousness?
Ответитьso he was going mach1+ when it pulled him up.
ОтветитьDang. That's terrifying. He's not even talking after a full... how many seconds. And the other member sounds scared, too. Wow I'm glad this exists...
ОтветитьSo help me understand this. Break it down for a dummy. So there are obviously sensors measuring the attitude, alt, and speed of jet. Is this a terrain system that pulled up the jet up itself? Or has the pilot recovered?
Ответить8.5 G;s seems to work so much better than a Sominex pill.
ОтветитьThat airframe is so stuff making the 9.1 Gs look like nothing, 4k feet to 13k in in mere seconds pushing 500+
ОтветитьFLYUP? Can I get a space? Jesus, such typography.
ОтветитьVery terrifying.
ОтветитьWonderful, like he was saved by an Angel
ОтветитьFYI He went down in full afterburn. I see 692 knots as the max airspeed, having reached it during the recovery, which at that altitude is typically going to be above supersonic
ОтветитьImagine that pilot waking up and realizing if he would’ve been training just a few years earlier, or didn’t have this system in his jet, he’d be in a fiery wreck in the ground
ОтветитьThe pilot Gloc?
ОтветитьBeautiful engineering right there. If i ever wanted to become an engineer this is the kind of solutions i would want to provide.
ОтветитьOH THE GREEN PSYCHOMETRICS WERE THROWING US OFF BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE RYB vis-a-vis RGB
ОтветитьCrikey. Lucky his wings didn't get ripped off.
Ответить9 Gs to recover imagine two of the fattest humans from my 600 lb life laying on you that’s what 9 Gs feels like.
ОтветитьAppears he was saved by a fellow pilot screaming into the mic to recover...
ОтветитьIncredible engineering. And aircraft
ОтветитьAfter this incident this pilot is getting a new callsign.
ОтветитьFUCK ME look at the altitude drop! 13k ft in about 16 seconds.
ОтветитьJust listened to the fighter pilot podcast episode about GCAS. Amazing system that is saving lives!
ОтветитьHe is not unconscious, you can hear him breathing properly and technical the whole time.
Ответитьknock it off!!!
ОтветитьThe pilot lost consciousness pulling 8.4 G’s and the recovery system pulled 9.1 G’s to save him truly incredible
ОтветитьAll fighters need this, just imagine how many lives this would have saved
Ответитьgood going usa
ОтветитьWOW 9.1g’s😮
ОтветитьDoesn't look too declassified too me.
ОтветитьNeeds to be in EVERY military jet period. It continues to save lives on a yearly basis and for those bean counters out there. What’s more cost effective? A 50k recovery program or a brand new plane.
Ответитьevery time I revisit this video, my heart ends up in my mouth seeing that altimeter drop like a sack of potatoes (with a rocket pushing it into the ground)... and the voice of the ATC (or whatever you call them in this military training scenario), screaming at him to try and wake him up. Oh boy, this is just frightening... Phew! Glad he was training at 17,000 ft. and not at 12,000... Man that was a nail biter.
ОтветитьWOw.
Ответить8.3 Gs damn
ОтветитьGCAS pulling 9.2gs to get out of that dive, damn. that pilot must have felt real loopy afterwards.
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьI'm the same as the captain, whenever my wife drives more than 2 miles on the highway
