There's no such thing as legal murder. Murdering someone for murdering someone makes no sense. The bible states murder is a sin. The death penalty never wins. It doesn't bring a loved one back and you caused the inmates family grief by killing them.

Even though some criminals deserve to die, I am glad that in my country** Greece, there is no death penalty. The death penalty is a cruel remnant of the past, inhuman, moraly indefensible and an insult for any nation that considers itself civilized.

All those convicted of War crimes and sentenced to death should have met the same fate of their victims.....gassed if having been involved in gassing, shot if having participated in shooting etc. etc..

The death penalty is wrong. It's not about not holding criminals accountable. A murderer belongs in prison for a long time or forever. Killing him means getting to his level. In Switzerland we have very few capital crimes, although we have humane criminal law. We are not allowed to play God, only he is master of life and death. The value of a life is not measured by what it does. Born and unborn life is willed by God, man must not end it. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and thus we humans are no longer allowed to rise up as rulers over life. We have to respect every life.

Back in 1994, Charles Rodman Campbell choose hanging as his method of execution. The Washington State Supreme Court had ruled in an earlier case that there was insufficient science with hanging to prevent a decapitation. For Campbell’s execution, the State of Washington did a worldwide search and found a qualified hangman in South Africa. The South African hangman’s skills were sufficient enough to satisfy the Court that Campbell would not be decapitated or suffer a “cruel and unusual” death after being dropped from the gallows.
