To be fair, Nightmare is only as strong as negative emotions get. Ink is rather yk emotionless. If anything Nightmare and Ink are relatively close besides the fact that Nightmare can't die.

Problem here is that Nightmare ain't winning this, and so is Ink. Ink can't really "die" nor feel pain I'm sure and Nightmare is basically the same, their both gonna keep hitting each other until both of them just stop.

Nightmare isn't sufficiently close to strong enough to kill or fatally damage Ink, but Ink's main weaponry is completely redundant to Nightmare because he's a goopy goober.

This battle would end with Ink taking "minimal" or at least non-fatal injuries, while Nightmare would be pissed he can't kill the squid.
