End of an era it seems. Stock E-bike vs. modded cr500 and the CR only wins because the E-bike is spinning it's rear for the first 25-50 feet. If there was a way to get all that torque from the E-bike to the ground instantly and hold it there... the 500 would look silly... and I am a huge 250 and 500 fan, you just can't beat the torque from electric motors.

That Alta was losing traction on payment ffs. Them things are light switches

The race didn't look fair for Sr. because the light weight guy, looked like he had a big advantage to get ahead of Sr, when he would hit the jump on the left, with Ken Sr. to the right, putting Mario ahead, after hitting the jump. Either way, good and entertaining race.

35-40 year old technology against brand new I'd say that's a winner. ✊

No shifting the electric. That makes it quick but also takes most of the enjoyment from riding imo.

I would really love to see you guys build a bike that runs alcohol or race gas stroked out ported polished the whole works 200 lb of compression. You should take one of those CR500 you got and just dumped some money and do it if you can I would love to see that

The sound of an electric motor will never replace the sound of any combustion engine though.
But one day future generations may only know that sound from historical videos.... :(

Here's a business idea... Convert blown out dirt bikes into electric..
Clients bring in the rolling chassis
KC Install e motor kits (QS motors are very reliable and VOTOL or KELLY controllers.
along with 72V batteries, look into this.
Get a CNC machine to make motor mounts
Controller brackets.
Kaplan Cycles becomes a full fledge motorcycle EMPIRE!
on all levels as it is.

Gas bikes are always superior

Most folks aren't a fan of the e-bike, Alta especially until you ride one and it scares you. It'll hang with the 500 till the speeds get up, lack of gears hurts it on high end. Thing is tracks are loaded with turns. I wasn't a fan till I also saw how you can turn it down or up to help with rider skills. Just look what a small company did with that bike, there is no other ebike that is equal. It hangs with a tuned cr500. They just need something on the bike to make you smell of oil and gas when done riding it. It's just to bad they sold out and closed doors. It seems BRP isn't going to produce a bike but just use the tech for all their other equipment

Yes but the question ist, what happens when the accu stands by 20-30 percent. Or the accu gets heater. Than the things goes slow-modus :-)

My DIY electric dirt bike made out of a 1999 KTM250EXC is dead even in a drag race with a 2022 Husqvarna 350 motorcross bike BUT it only has 18km range, I love it, I ride it pretty much every day and it allows me to ride some great hard enduro spots that are near houses without shitting everyone off. But I think at least at this stage the best way to view electric dirt bikes is as another type of bike rather than a replacement for gas bikes, I love my Trials bike and my downhill bike as well but none of them replace each other or my gas dirt bike and they arn't supposed to, they are there own unique thing. I know this was just a cool fun video and i enjoyed it but i thought I'd make the point anyway as a lot of people seem to get hung up on which is better when in realty they are different things and all cool in their own way.
