Just going to say this to those criticizing Tsuchiya's skills..he's been driving with actual track experience longer than anyone else, especially before any of you were born including myself. I'm only saying this because I don't want to hear some BS person trying to make some technical discussion w/o knowing the backstory of the car or experience or because of a simulator or some reference from Initial D. Whatever it is, I just want everyone to enjoy the video.
As far as the car setup goes, this was the car's first debut in 1998 and did not have the modifications it would receive later in its times for refinement (i.e. 14" tires to 15"s tires, engine tweaked for 8,500-9,000RPM instead of 9,500 shift point, TRD rear shocks replaced with PCR shocks, equal length 4-links mod, GT-Wing, etc.) so considering this was the car's shakedown, it's not a bad result for 3rd place but again it wasn't refined. If you watch the AE86 Club volumes, you'll see the progress it went through from 1998 to 2001/2002. That's just my 2 cents, I'm not here to put down anyone with their opinions but it's annoying to see someone just post some blatant comment without knowing the reasoning and acting as if they've driven longer than the guy himself. Let's just all enjoy the driving and sound!
my goat 🥰
ОтветитьThe real life DK
ОтветитьMeanwhile dude in 2nd putting on a defensive masterclass.
ОтветитьDK's rear was flying all over and took a lot to correct while the car infront looked stable. A longer race maybe 3 laps more DK would overtake but more than that, his tyres would degrade much more than the guy infront and will not be able to attack.
ОтветитьTsuchiya's Trueno has more power then the front AE86 but losing traction at the corner, you can notice he has to battle with the oversteer when exiting corner, the front AE86 has more rear end grip then Tsuchiya's, that's why he did not manage to overtake him at the last high speed corner.
2nd points is that, Tsuchiya been racing for so many years in GT cars, long hour endurance races, including 24 hours of Lemans. This little AE86 race is not even putting any stress on him, he was probably enjoying doing this aggressive move and did it in purpose, don't forget this is part of Best motoring documentary, it needs some exciting scene for audience.
this is driving
ОтветитьSubbie
ОтветитьHis corner exits were faster than the competition. But couldn't make the moves stick
Ответитьwow just. wow.
ОтветитьWish F1 had this onboard foot cam also.
Ответить❤DK
ОтветитьHow does he let his foot off the clutch so quickly after rev matching is it because this car is designed and tuned for this kinda driving making it easier? Or yes jsut that good haha
ОтветитьTf the Atlus logo is doing on his helmet. Nigga was playing persona beta at that time?
Ответитьman those little oversteer skids make him lose so much time
ОтветитьI think we found the new Alpine driver for the 2023 F1 season, Keiichi and Alonso would destroy the field
If Alpine does not want him we just get him a Ae86 and its gg
In Monaco Keiichi in the 86 would get an easy win if he gets pole, drifting around those corners and nobody would pass him
heel and toe work is good but my question is , is it necessary to press toe ? as i think its just making engine sound and nothing else
Ответитьシフトを足で押さえてる、、、?!
Ответитьthe driver of tecno pro spirit and owner tuner of this car he is known fo being a good blocking technique taniguchi and orido praise him because they can't pass him in n2 race
ОтветитьIf 3rd gear was working better haha maybe hed have him
ОтветитьIm starting to understand that pinned comment. Im staring to nail down a pretty amazing setup in a simulator, so i kind of know how it should handle... yeah the suspension setup he was using here was awful (having to oversteer that much when coming out of a corner sucks), I completely agree with you now. (I always agreed that he was good, but not knowing how a car should handle made me question it.)
Ответитьat the last lap i was like : "wait, they're racing on Tsukuba circuit" x)
ОтветитьNo abs,no stability control,no traction control, its pure driving pleasure with your arm and leg
Ответитьthe heel toe 😍😍😍😍
ОтветитьJust realized theres Atlus in dori-doro's helmet
Ответитьaye man I would love to watch more full videos like this one, do you happen to have more?
ОтветитьCar he’s chasing for several laps seems to not lose much speed in the turns. Seems an issue of vehicle performance rather than driver, tho that driver’s technique is also quite good.
ОтветитьThose quick downshifts. 👍
ОтветитьHe's one guy you don't want to see in your rearview. 😅
Ответитьなんじゃこの迫力は。
ОтветитьThis is oddly satisfying to watch
Ответитьthat 1st place freakin car. what's in his car because it was way ahead of everyone
ОтветитьHe's so skilled he made shifting down two gears look like he was just double clutching
ОтветитьSensational rev matches 🤌🏾
ОтветитьMe envanta !!! Sonido , tecnica y habilidad !!! Nice 🏁 Nice Sound !!!
ОтветитьA moment of change from 3 to 4. I like the sound of the engine🎶🖤
ОтветитьHis shifts are so captivating 🤯
ОтветитьI wanna be like this man when I grow up...I’m 30 😭
ОтветитьWhen Japan made a 1.6L engine in the 80s that sounds better then any Ferrari today.
Ответитьこの時のドリドリの走り方は、突っ込み重視型だね。前のドライバーは立ち上がり重視型。プレッシャーをかけつつ、タイヤマネジメントもしなきゃならないドライバーは本当に大変だね。
ОтветитьYou are seeing angry Tsuchiya in this vid.
ОтветитьBeautiful 😢
ОтветитьPowerful heel & toe
ОтветитьThem heel toe is like second nature to him. Real legendary DK 🙌
