Sunroof takes two inches just to be there. No sunroof has more head room

It would help if you actually placed the traction boards under the tire. You had them in back but not wedged where the can work. Very frustrating to watch.

That truck would've easily made it all the way with proper tires.

I was under the impression the sunroof impeded on head room.

I don’t think having a locker would’ve done anything for him. It’s not like he was spinning one wheel with the open diff. He just wasn’t getting traction. Crowd control, MTS, that stuff wouldn’t have mattered if you’re not getting any traction because you’re practically on ice.

Your videos are thorough, concise, and helpful! I'm looking for the right midsize truck for myself. Just have to decide between the Ridgeline, Tacoma, and Canyon. I wish Toyota upgraded their interior more, as this would make the choice a little easier. Cheers!

So you loose all of the 4wd modes and crawl control but in its place you get blacked out badging? Am I the only one who’s calling BS on this. Blacked out badging cost the same as all the 4wd extras? No.

No crawl control, no MTS , no locking rear differential , not even any weight in the rear …just 4WD on a set of street tires . Rather impressive ! Always keep your wheels straight and don’t spin the tires , but you finally figured it out .
Just ordered a 2022 TRD Off Road double cab long bed Army Green, and I’ll probably never use any of the MTS / Crawl Control features, but the locking rear differential should be a standard feature on ALL OF the trim levels . I would have just got the SR5 trail edition with the locking rear differential if they would offer it with the long bed . And you can’t get a manual with a long bed either … smh 🤦‍♂️

Thank you for this video. I just bought a 2022 Tacoma Limited Nightshade tonight. Since my last vehicle was a Hummer H1, I was concerned that I was making too big a sacrifice for comfort over utility. However, since I now have a bad back, it was a sacrifice I had to make. You've reassured me I can still drive across the farmer's hayfield to get to my deer stand, and I can also drive down a paved road and hit a pothole without my spine vibrating out of my body (like it did with the H1). Subbed.

You have the sunroof thing opposite, you have more head room with it!

Love the look of the truck, but I would have it sitting on BFG KO2 tires before I even picked it up at the dealership. (As I did with my current TRD Sport)

I love the Limited and that was the one I was going to buy, but it was too long to fit in my garage. I was surprised it didn't have locking differential. However, the performance in snow met my expectation. NOTE: a 4-Runner would fit my garage.

snow is fun. it is tempting to go fast in it. I think over 45 mph is too much in the straight areas and 35 on the gs areas. Never spin your tires fast when your stuck or you'll put yourself into 4 ice traps. living in tahoe we have lots of toyotas and the locals know how to drive in the snow pretty well.

I’ve been up that road a lot of times over the years. you could go way up in that area and do some target shooting. Apparently it’s a parking lot for hikers and what not in the pit as it was called before idiots trashed!

The tire issue has been commented on enough, I don’t know how many have pointed out that isn’t a bed liner. The Tacoma has a composite bed,.

Enjoyed watching your video. I own a 2020 SR5, 4WD, double cab, 6ft bed. I too would have been on my edge going where you went in that snow. That 16 " bottom clearance filled up quickly as that snow got deeper. Maybe different tires would of done better. But overall,, you got freed up and you were able to come back down the mountain. I'd still give it high marks.

I feel like it would have done fine in that snow if it had better tires.

Awesome Channel. I have a Tacoma TRD offroad and got stuck in a thick snow too. It wasn't an easy recovery even with MTS/crawl control/rear-diff lock options. You really have to dig out the snow and make sure the tires are in good contact with the traction board. I think fot the limited to 4L/4H options only, I'll bring 4x traction board for better chances of getting out. Just my 2 cents. Great review!

There you go again doing everything possible for a vehicle to fail. Testing a truck in a foot of snow over ice without proper winter tires is an indication of……nothing.

Must be kidding. I test drove. Thought i was buying one. Wtf. cant get out of their own way. In fact dangerous on the highway. Should be called "comas." Lol. These things are proof people are like lemmings. Or that you can sell ice to eskimos. They need all the electronic diversions because you will otherwise be bored to death. Test drove other trucks immediately. Bought zr2. Awesome. Conclusion. Way over priced to start. Then will cost at least 10000 in mods to make it still only 😝 on the road.

I find turning off traction control and esc if you can to helpful in the deeper snow. Its like mud you need to keep momentum and having systems that cut power to reduce wheel spin hurt you when you need those wheels to be turning. As well as having a bit of weight in the back. I like using two 24x30 patio slabs an two sand bags over each rear wheel
