It's dumb feature. At least option to permanently disable should be available.
Minus for MBZ and others.

How do you turn it off permanently?? I have a 2017 GLS350D and we live in a semi-rural area. Everytime we get to the traffic lights in town the motor switches off and you get that moment of panic that the engine has stopped in a bad way and youll be stuck at the lights...getting a frieght like that at every blokdy set of traffic lights is stress inducing and its the most hated feature of this car that otherwise we love.

How could i deectivate petmanently this function which damage the engine, the starter and the battery ?

Is there any way to turn off just the open car door feature that shuts the engine off.

I replaced both my batteries, auxiliary and main batteries on my w212 e class with original Mercedes battery but my start and stop still not working. After driving it for 2 min instead the eco going green it actually just goes off, doesn’t even stay amber. Any one know what it can be?

So if the car is running and parked, it stays running but if your car is running and in drive it turns itself off. That makes no sense!

..."helps reduce emissions"... it's good to know, but no local government cares about it. You get no exemption in low-emission zones.

I guess the battery is the big loser on all of this ?

I only drive few miles a day in city traffic and don't charge the car enough. This feature cause me a new battery when I do the first year maintenance! I need to turn it off permanently! How can I do that?

The engine keeps turning off/on at the red light or stop sign makes people very nervous! Particularly, once you get jam in the traffic!!!!!!
My wife really hate it!!!!
I turn it off once driving in the city area.
on freeway, I turn it on!!!!

That shit happend to me yasterday i lock the engine ..still dont know how to remove that ..i try but my battery is low or dead ..mercedes 2013/14 220 cdi 7g.

Who ever design this stupid function did not thinking how it effect on starting system performance.
In the long run it will damage to starter and flywheel ring gear, fry up wiring to starter, few case been reports & recall.

Starting system suppose to use couple time a day, excessive used will causing damage to flywheel that will cost over $5000 to remove engine to replace it.
I hang a note on my rear view mirror remind drive to turn off A switch before drive.

This feature sucks. Last Mercedes I will ever buy.

You used to program it on or off in the Individual Mode.
