Lame... water is plenty and abundant in space. Planets, ice moons, astroid, comets, and any civilazation that can achieve interstellar travel in FTL speed would be able to make water with hydrogen and oxygen. So why bother with a planet that has so much RNA based microbial life that can be dangerous to the aliens?

i thought the night of the living dead radio or dawn of the dead tv show said it was from solar radiation brought back from a space flight.

I hated the season when they got the flu from the pigs. They called it a flu and cured it with antibiotics when antibiotics only work on bacterial caused illnesses.

The one thing that doesn't make sense to me is why don't they explain or show us why ppl turn into dead even if not bitten like what exactly infects everyone.

I always thought it was one of two things

1.) It originated in religious context. Infection representing rapture and the unification of the human race under a seriously twisted version of "God's image" (please note that I do not mean any disrespect whatsoever) in that vanity, greed, lust, etc are all absent in the deceased as they join together and "free" the living from their physical confines.

2.) The evolution of stomach bacteria. Would explain why everyone has it and why it only activates on death, it's just the bacteria self-preservation. Would also explain the lack of a cure as the body isn't pumping blood after death and thus the cure would never be absorbed by the body. If trying to inject a cure or vaccine, probably would just kill the person by triggering the genetic "kill switch" in the bacteria.

At this point any origin they reveal is going to be really boring if it took this long for us to finally know about it

my little theory is (also coming up with it as im writing XD) that perhaps it started when scientists wanted to try to bring people back to life, but also needed some extra kick to get the system working again. this would also need some sort of way to stop the body from disinigrating into dirt. now since the chemicals themselfs cant create life, they needed something to test it on. using some sort of lab animal, they sucessfully brought a monkey back to life. to which its baby happy reunited with its mom. baby monkey was still nursing.
they were so happy over their success that they didnt take in consideration of something possiblely being wrong with the milk. they kept the 2 for a while, and started to notice that the mother was starting to act strangely, so they seperated the monkeys, and put the mother under sedation. but after a few mins of being under mother monkey wakes up and becomes extremley agressive. thus causing chaos and all employies scrambling around. they eventualy killed the mother monkey, but baby was no where to be seen. only then did they consider the danger of having let the 2 stay together. baby goes around, someone picks him up, baby bites human, human just treats the wound with medical cream and bandages. later dont feel well, goes to sleep, next morning, zombie.

The cause us well known to some of us, it came about by the sudden influx of genetic material that had been kept geographically separated for millennia, based on social justice these materials, along with their latent viral component,s began to intermingle and mutate, taking on the suppressed hatreds of their core hosts, and their suppressed desires to eliminate that which they now faced and pretended to accept, daily. The hosts impressed these desired into rna changes and began expelling these new viral loads onto population.

I think it will be better for all three that starts the outbreak as something not from earth like a meteor and years later the Space rock starts to grow plants and is used in like drugs and that’s how it spreads from use of the drug then the infected individual coughing and all the normal ways of spreading come in but at that point it’s small but it’s not harmful then some world power try’s to weaponize it but goes wrong witch eventually ends with patient zero and the spread

It would make so much more sense to just say that the bite kills because of an infection (rotten flesh tearing into your skin) that follows zombiefication

This didn't age well as the finale end credit scene from the world beyond they have a french woman watching Jenner's video about the virus and in one scene there is writing on one of the ac shafts that reads "Les mortis sont nes ici" which translates to "the dead were born here". So it seems like this might be the answer especially how Jenner also mentions variants.. Faster or more intelligent zombies coming back?

I know I’m late to this party , maybe because I stopped watching after they defeated Negan and rick just took tf off and Carl died and that was the beginning of the fall of TWD, but to my OG point , why does an alien viruses seem like a phoned in resolution? It’s disappointing and after GOT got so effed up this just takes the cake!
Edit: I get his nod to his mentor BUT cmon it was such a well written and acted show in the first 5 seasons ( and I’m being generous ) and fresh to just chalk it up to a well worn out reason like Aliens is just .....sad.
