Honestly it's pretty useful, especially if you like to auto hide the sidebar. (Though they should give you the option to remove it.)

Wont be removing it, I find it useful tbh, but apart from that, if i know microsoft, then they are definitely gonna make an easier way to remove it. I hear rumours that theyre gonna make a fully clean, debloated version of Edge, a bit like FF Focus and maybe DDG


Also FYI, a reason for Microsoft really pushing bing and edge onto windows to the point where it feels extreme (other than chrome undeservingly being seen as better) is because of the stupid memes. The memes made fun of the two for not being the very best, and it got so out-of-hand that they full-on forced edge onto windows at extreme rates, and went turbo with the updates. Bing stayed bing though
