Such a great studio being forced to work on cod is extremely unfortunate

While I generally liked Raven's games such as Soldier of Fortune and Elite Force, one thing I always hated about their games was their reliance on in-level cutscenes. One moment you'd be playing the game and the next, you're watching a cutscene. I have nothing against well-done cutscenes, but a lot of time, there was no valid reason for it to be a cutscene, rather than just happening in-game.

For example, you're fighting a boss in Jedi academy, she jumps up on a ledge where you can't follow and a cutscene plays. Why does it have to be a cutscene? Why couldn't I be left in control of my character to hear her speech? Later in the game when you meet her again, instead of watching her come down a staircase toward you, it goes to a cutscene and shows you fighting her for almost a minute before you're allowed to take control again. I almost rage-quit the frigging game right there. I sat there in anger for about five minutes yelling "Go ahead and play the rest of the f***ing game for me!"

Maybe these things don't bother other people, but I find them annoying and that second boss battle cutscene infuriated me. So much so, that I've never gone back and replaced that game.

Raven Software делали хорошие игры но видимо много сотрудников покинули студию и теперь они делают плохие игры Call of duty.....
