Anyone know where to get the CHEAPest dry foods or MREs etc?
It's all so expensive 😢
I’m a new subscriber. Great presentation. I could listen to you talk for hours!
ОтветитьIFAK SOUNDS LIKE A REFUGE MEDICAL KIT THAT'S BEEN AROUND BEFORE THIS VIDEO
Ответитьi find these type of vds funny as folks who know this stuff will be heading to the countryside and forrests ,just like 1000s of others will and then the folks who allready live out there ,they will not be happy about there hunting areas over run with preppers
Ответить12lb bug out bag. Total cost $1200
ОтветитьThe way this tent stakes are made you could tie them to a good sized stick and use it at a spear maybe idk just a thought
ОтветитьGet your bag and go.
ОтветитьThankyou
ОтветитьI would say the SOS rations he's never eaten before. They're the worst tasting rations. The best tasting bug out bag rations ive found are the mayday or mainstay rations. These two rations are the best for taste and nutrition
ОтветитьValuable info... but they're looking at you looking at this.
ОтветитьI didnt see a wire saw? How come ? Surely thats worth the weight of it?
Ответитьas an emt it’s refreshing to see someone stress to people to get training before using this items but I’m sure you’re aware that using a tourniquet in a bug out situation is a bad idea once on it can’t be taken off in the field because the blood to becomes basically poison and once removed it will kill the patient along with making amputation a real possibility. I have a tourniquet in my home and it would be my absolute last option when performing life saving care.
ОтветитьNot sure why you're recommending a bag that's out of the price range of 90% of Americans.
ОтветитьIn an SHTF scenario the ring on your left hand will be the biggest obstacle that hinders a lot of what you said here. I don’t mean that in a rude way. It’s something I think about a lot. I have a wife and 3 little kids. Bugging out to me will mean loading up the minivan and moving to our more secure location where our supplies are already stored and holding down the fort with rifles, my crew, and ammo.
ОтветитьAll these preppers are actually really fragile. They were the first people to freak out when the hair salon and Applebees dining room closed durong the pandemic, you think they are going to survive a crisis? They are ready for "when the shit goes down" but they don't get off the couch or put down the meth pipe.
ОтветитьWhere would you be going exactly? What should a person be thinking
ОтветитьWhat about some sort of binoculars, or a sight glass. I am no survivalist, and know nothing about this stuff but I feel like being able to scope out a place from a distance would be important.
ОтветитьYESS ❤
ОтветитьYour nails are so immaculate for an out door prep gear channel like this !
ОтветитьMost knowledgeable and informative video I’ve watched yet. Would love to spend a weekend with you to gather some knowledge
ОтветитьAny knife is better than no knife. Any gun is better than no gun. Not the same can be said for a spouse.
ОтветитьHow do you feel about 5.11 and Cannae bags? That's what I own and I'm trying to build a 24 hour bag to keep in my truck. IFAK, Knife, Shelter, Fire, Food, etc are always with me already. I have the Mini Inferno within arms reach in case I lose power at home and need to make a fire in the fireplace for heat or cooking.
ОтветитьGreat input as always! Thank you
ОтветитьLove it!!!
If I can make a humble suggestion, swap some of the items out for their “ultralight hiking” equivalent. In many cases, you will be retain full function at a fraction of the weight. While 19 lbs is for sure “light”, you can shed 10 of those pounds retaining full functionality and save you a lot of unnecessary calorie expenditure and discomfort on days with extreme exertion (think 20-30+ mile days).
As the saying goes, “ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain”.
It took me a few years of testing and dialing in my set-up, but now I couldn’t be happier.
Thank you for the great video’
This video is great but what I’ve noticed with videos like this is that there’s an assumption that we’re looking after me, myself and I. I would love for you to do a similar video but with a family in mind. I can look after myself just fine but a bug out scenario with (in my my case): 2 young children, a tough but petite wife and a dog becomes a bit more complex: I’d love your thoughts and advice on such a scenario
ОтветитьIs he from Vermont?
ОтветитьWhat in your life do you think means you will need a "bug out" bag?
ОтветитьThis guy is legit and the best advice I've seen on bug out bag tips, etc!!
ОтветитьThis suggestion is good.
ОтветитьA good refresher to help me think and plan.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьIs there an updated list?
ОтветитьNOTHING is made like it used to be ....
I love how NOBODY ever seems to mentions that flints in Zippo and Bic lighters will corrode and be useless over time ( or just getting wet )
It doesn't even take that long anymore ( so NOT a long term storage item )
Zippos are useless ... the fuel evaporates in under two weeks
An Israeli bandage can be a good secondary Tourniquet.
ОтветитьOkay I guess this would help in an earthquake or maybe a flood for a week. Not sure why bullet wounds are mentioned.,, What I find interesting is how we depend on all these finely tuned products invented by our highly specialized economy, (and affordably made in China) to make our life (and escape from it, ironically) survivable. I understand being prepared for emergencies, but not the "escape" idea.
Humans have always needed groups to survive as is apparent in all these clever gadgets we can buy to do so. Thank the scientists, the engineers, the workers, the farmers, and all the (likely women) who prepared the food while they were doing this. The wonderous way humans have learned to live together and provide for all.. as we can see from this "bug out" bag.
I use a reflective 1.5 lb XL tyvek bivy, a 50x10 ft monofilment 2" mesh net as a hammock, 1lb, A couple of 1/4 lb each full body bugnet suits from amazon, a couple of 1/2 lb each Amazon camo nets, 3 of the heavy-duty 55 gallon drum liners, a 3x4 ft oval of clear PEVA shower curtain (wallys) tape, cordage, stakes, and I can sleep ok at 34.F, in wind and rain, with no heat source, in just cammies, unlaced shoes, 3 pairs of sock liners, gloves, balaclava, shemagh. I put on one of the bugnet suits, twist the camo nets and wrap them around me, then put on the other bugnet suit, wearing the assembly as "longjohns.". I can get down to 20F degrees by using debris between the bugnet suits and between the wraps of the cammo net (around the OUTSIDE of my cammies.
ОтветитьI keep a headlamp (similar to the one you show at the end of this video) in the medical part of my bag. It is important to have some light that is easy to find in a medical kit. That way you're not looking around for a light source before being able to provide medical aid in low/no light.
ОтветитьI love the classic tarp + ranger blanket + bivy.
Classic military. 1st night in the field type lessons!
Excellent video.
ОтветитьTaking a flask, full of boiled water and a package of food that can be boiled in water is a great idea! That way if you are hungry, there is no cooking, just boiled water and a little packet of food. Six little cans of gas with a miniature pocket stove is a great idea as well.
ОтветитьWhat was the total weight of pack & contents?
ОтветитьAs a marine in Viet-Nam we were trained to deal with a sucking chest wound with the cellophane off a cigerette pack. I actually had to use that on a LT.
Ответитьany regional environmental / geographic based pack consideration for upstate ny?
ОтветитьYou're very informative, subscribed. Ty.
ОтветитьIs there a way to stop my poncho from collecting condensation while I sleep in it with a liner????
ОтветитьThank you for the insight, first video i caught of yours was of the bulkier camo orientation. Thank you for your service and the sharing of crucial knowledge
ОтветитьI can’t tell you how nice it is to finally find someone who knows what they’re talking about. Instead of rolling my eyes and switching off, I just watched and nodded. I have only two things to say, buy a Millbank bag and swap those shears out for a pair of x shears.
ОтветитьThis makes me sure that I'm not ready
ОтветитьWhere to get the snugpack? Been Looking for the 3 part system version everywhere
Ответить
