Can I suggest something: is it possible that actually the neck flexors along with scalenes (side bending) are for looking down primarily and not a stabiliser of the neck. Tightness and weakness in these muscles is just a symptom due to forward head carriage etc. The primary stabilisers are the deep lower cervical/thoracic extensors which hold your head and spine in proper position. Essentially the flexors are switched of in resting position. They are very small muscles and I find it difficult to see they play any real significant roll in stability of the cervical spine. What are your thoughts? Thanks

It's too easy for me I even can put additional 8 kilo on my forehead. BUT if I put a pillow or roller under my scapulas to make my torso 45 degree angle and begin to trow my head back. I am so weak at this point can't handle even 1 sec. My head just drop down. How can I train THAT muscle? Cause I can't look up without pain. I think the problem is in some weak muscles but I can't figure out which one

Is there a version of this test where the patient is told to have their shoulders at the end of the table and have their head hanging off the table edge?

If the patient loses the chin tuck, can you correct them and continue the test? Although 1 second is so short, more time will pass than 1 second before you can instruct the patient to induce the chin tuck. ....

But it also could test endurance of sternocleidomastoid muscles. Isn't it defeat the purpose?

If I have weak dysfunctional deep neck flexors that are inhibited will the back of my neck get chronically tight? I also had anterior cervical fusion c6c7 and my neck pain has increased. Thanks. Nice video

Would a positive test be the patient not being able to hold their head 1 inch above the table?

Excellent and easy way of testing deep neck flexors endurance. Would you mind to provide us a full reference. Was it Dominique et al 2015? Title of the publication please.
