Do anybody want to accept Jesus Christ as your savior Jesus Christ want to give you love peace and happiness and joy and salvation and eternal life if you confess your sin
ОтветитьHi Bailey, Thank you so much for your nice presentation on social media that really hurting mental health. I have started to realize right after your talk.
ОтветитьNoobs. Probably weren't online in 94.
ОтветитьI deleted my social media yesterday 😅... Wish me good luck 🍀
ОтветитьStep #1 Go to therapy
Step #2 Use social media

ОтветитьIronic that she is making very intriguing and important issues here but her linkedin has an up to date view counter for her Ted Talks
ОтветитьThis is why i deleted facebook, twitter, Instagram, Tictock, and Snapchat. I feel better without social media, because I felt so insecure about myself, I would be on social media all day and I want to be accepted badly to getting likes, and comments, and getting followers. When I was on social media I would have thoughts that I feel that somebody was talking about me. I was feeling depressed, my anxiety was of the chart because that’s how my brain was attached to social media. I would get on my phone and get on social media until Midnight, the next day I would have seizure attacks everyday, going to the hospital because I wanted it to take my life away, because that’s how bad it was, I would cry because I feel that I am not good enough. Now that I feel so much better without social media, I don’t have to worry about getting into drama, and etc. when I was in college right? I been away from social media got a lot of messages. But it met something to me, because I wanted to be excepted badly for people to like me. My sister had told me get of social media because I am taking up to much time on social media , so I deleted all of my social media accounts, and I also told my sis that it wasn’t easy to get of social media, because social media is like an Addiction. I would not pay no attention to my sis, or my family, because social media was like my best friend. And people could start trouble with you for no reason, one girl told me that she deleted me for good, because I wouldn’t talk to her and I had a lot of schoolwork to finish. Then went on social media and talking about me on her wallpost, so that’s when I realized that I can’t think everyone is my friend. I feel a lot better no social media I don’t wake up in the morning having seizures, anxiety, or feeling emotional, now I can get things done on time, spending time more with my sister and family, when I go to bed I would turn of my phone because I wanna get some good sleep. To much screen time is not good for the brains and the body as well, the body needs 8 hours of sleep. I see a lot of people glued to their phones a lot , we don’t see kids reading books, or connecting with their families, you got little kids that wants to be famous and get likes on their pictures, it’s ridiculous.
Ответить"We struggle with insecurity because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else's highlight reel."
Very Powerful
6 years later. Things have gotten worst. Cancel culture has gotten out of control. Too many people are being exposed to things they are not mentally prepared for. Then they attack what makes them uncomfortable. Or just attack to make themselves more popular
ОтветитьI've recently got off social media. I have never experienced peace like this before. Less noise, less harassment and less jealousy from my end. I believe it'll be ones best choice to get off social media.
ОтветитьI love this talk, big thank you
ОтветитьLook at us being all human, attributing value to stuff, psssssh
Ответитьhaha im not sure but i dont feel like that at all cus for me i just don't take things seriously from the media but i do understand all this issues and its true cus yes i do see it happening around me
ОтветитьWhy can't the tech giants take down all the bad stuff that damage peoples lives and cause mental health issues and get people in trouble to.time they did another clean up and take responsibility for there actions to take down any hurtfully material that cause mental health issues for the rest of there life . protect dose not work we need to to start sending them to court to give them a criminal offence and fine for ruining people s lives this is how I see this as and now have a mental health issues change ps I have you don't mind me expressing this .?
ОтветитьI'm glad that I don't have any other social media besides YT
ОтветитьGreat talk indeed....
ОтветитьThis is undeniably true. I’ve never felt healthier than when I came off social media. I can relate to this so much and can literally feel my mental health dip when I go on social media,
Unbelievable.
life isn't a competition..you do you and be real..
Ответить3 days without social media
ОтветитьBrilliantly delivered, A++ Sister! . . . .the best of TED Talks ❤
ОтветитьThere was life before social media. And people can survive without it.
ОтветитьThe funny thing is, notifications are clutter. I'll click the button when I'm on social media and not even read them. I spend next to no time on social media. If I post a picture, I'll post it and walk away for days. By the time I come back, I'll have 74 notifications. I enjoy reading, Netflix, gaming, and napping. My 47-year-old husband spends 3 to 4x more time on social than I do. I'm 29. I'm also watching this for school. GO SNHU!
Ответитьsocial media values importance in the life - very interesting!
ОтветитьYes.
ОтветитьI don't know but i will tell you something.. I was confident boy in the past before the smart phone not afraid to talk to anybody and with it i become anxious af but my confidence is back after i quit.
ОтветитьI remember deactivating my social media and it made me feel better
ОтветитьLoved all the points you made! Excellent points to reflect on.

ОтветитьHere from the future: We still need to learn how to use social life to improve us vs. being ruled by it. I personally use Social Media now more to get professional advices quicker and actually improve my social interaction in real life! Yes, done right you can use to it to boost it instead of subsitute it with Social Media.
ОтветитьSocial media has taken over the world in the past few decades, as well as created a completely new worry for people and how it can impact their mental health. I personally have been impacted by social media myself, and have a partner who has no social media at all. When I have taken breaks from social media as well as my partner, our anxieties and stressors greatly decreased. It is incredible how much something that is not actually tangible can greatly impact your health. Although I do believe that there are many benefits of social media (e.g. bringing families that live across the world together), it has caused more harm then good in a lot of ways. One way that social media can cause mental health issues for patients is the potential spread of misinformation that can cause increased anxiety and panic without any resolution or answers. This can also cause mistrust in professionals and the health care workers that are more informed in their fields. Social media can also impact people physically. With the advent of having phones at our fingertips, social media is encouraging sedentary behaviors as well as disrupting sleep. This can lead to increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, and fatigue. How can we as health care professionals try and prevent our patients from spending too much time on social media when it is so easily accessible? We need to try and mitigate these risks as much as possible, because it is inevitable that social media is going to continue to potentially cause problems with our patients. There needs to be a healthier balance of being on social media as well as trying to enjoy life outside of it.

ОтветитьI really enjoyed this, Bailey Parnell. The information given here is awesome. I can remember when I would spend a lot of time on social media, but now I maybe check it twice a week and that is enough for me.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI was enjoying to watch until she supported social media… as a expert she really should admit how bad it is.
ОтветитьWonderful
ОтветитьAnd that's why don't follow anyone. When I think of them, I look them up.
ОтветитьWhy do you keep nailing it? I am now all ears. 👍🏽
ОтветитьVery good!
