Great info
ОтветитьI dunno if this is a stupid question but I have an Audi A4 b7 egr and it looks very different would this same method work? Obviously they look different but am unsure on the mechanical differences
ОтветитьMany thanks, my Subaru needs this done asap
ОтветитьWOW!
What a result!
Thank you for the informative video.
All the best 👍
1. Great!
2. Sonic bath (top out of liquid)? Nobody's done it so there must ge a reason.
3. Can y ou try to lever the plunger up and down, force it, or does it only work electronically? I've tried to follow a video showing off car testing with no success no movement so i don't know if i didn't do it right. There was actually very little carbon build up.
4. Thank you!
A bit of advice please. Garage told me I need a new EGR valve on 1998 Mondeo. Mechanic was great, showed me the EGR snd explained that I could get home (in Wales on holiday) but he can't get a new egr til next week.
If a garage thinks this is broken...can this be fixed?
Car runs. Petrol smell in car occasionally. No major symptoms. Accelerates smoothly, just a whooshing sound like spraying of water when accelerating.
Thoughts?
Ie, do you think this can be cleaned? Do they break?
Is that just water in the other bowl mate
ОтветитьGreat clear concise video
Ответитьlooks good.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I'm really struggling to find the part brand new so I'm hoping a clean will fix my issue!
Ответитьcan a blocked egr valve stop the engine from starting
ОтветитьWell done mate I am doing mine just now fantastic video straight to the point 👍
Ответитьhave you still got your cheapo Nissan Leaf .
ОтветитьGreat video..thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьGreat tip!!!
ОтветитьWhat is the mr muscle thing and what is it’s replacement Cus obviously we are not in the UK
ОтветитьLemon juice works wonders on egr and O2 sensors
Ответитьwhat a donut!
ОтветитьFollowed your advice. Thanks. Mechanic has said the EGR is now stuck open. Any idea how to fix this?
ОтветитьFlabbergasted.... amazing video. Saved me a Ton of money. Cheers mate.
ОтветитьGreat video, and very well explained, given me the knowledge to attempt the job myself 👍👍
ОтветитьFor the best video ever show name of spray what you use
ОтветитьAnd just think, you can clean your oven afterwards.
ОтветитьOutstanding video. Amazing result. I read online mechanics charge as much as $500 to change an EGR valve. Therefore, this is a great money saver.
ОтветитьGreat video. Really useful. Thank you.
"Internet mechanics" :) :) .. There sure are lots of them!
Is it Audi A3 8P EGR Valve? Where is this part located?
Ответитьje voudrai savoir si c est de l eau dans la bassine??? merci
ОтветитьGreat video. Oven cleaner for egr is brilliant and cost effective. Best egr how-to-diy I have seen so far. I think I'll run the process with your method. Thanks mate.
ОтветитьClever use of household cleaning products!
ОтветитьSaved me a good penny bruv ,
Che matey
Great video - very well done; great advice - punters need to save money these days and not just get dealers to replace parts that can be back to normal with a good clean - better on the environment and better on the hip pocket! Also, very satisfying to fix something yourself!!! Thanks mate!
ОтветитьExcellent down to earth video and great idea using using the oven cleaner. At the end of the day carbon is carbon and the oven clearn is spot on. I'm a trained engineer of 25years in industrial equipment and machinery and I think what you have done and how you have done it is spot on. Great video and thank you. Doesn't matter how much experience you have behind you, there is always something new to learn and try!
ОтветитьWell done that man
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьHi Sir. How to an clean EGR valve14L Detroit
ОтветитьExcellent job. Need common sense.
Some use water pressure… that doesn’t dissolve the carbon buildup. DA.
Is it worth giving the shaft a one second spray of silicone ? Or is the operating temperature too high.
ОтветитьFollowing my Skoda Yeti control system warning light coming on. I am almost hoping this is the same issue as the one you so brilliantly describe. Thumbs up good fella!
ОтветитьJust did this on a VW TdI. These engines suffocate themselves and in the long run, they than pollute and consume more fuel than necessary because of the wear. Ingenuity and complexity at its finest. Thx politicians and environmentalists!
ОтветитьHow did u take of that part? Where is it located? Is it u der the battery? Is il lose? What is that? My orange lamp is on and the code was telling my mecanic to fix the egr.
Ответитьgreat video and very clear instructions too 👌 superb!
ОтветитьGreat video....what would that process have cost in a garage?
Ответитьgreat job on cleaning it up, wish you had mentioned what kind of engine this was on...where it's found on the engine...and do all modern cars have this?
ОтветитьI'm curious ... how do you check if it has seized?? I would've assumed that would be the first thing to check (?) Is it safe if I carefully try to move the valve up and down with a screwdriver?
Also, can the actuator be tested by applying direct power to it?
Was just about to head out the day for some fancy egr cleaner till I watched your video. Got a tin of mr muscle in the kitchen. So my egr is gona be a free clean the day. Lol. Good excuse to get out of cleaning oven too.
ОтветитьHow did you removed the valve? I removed the 3 bolts but its really stuck and dont won't come out.....
ОтветитьThe glasses are a good idea, I bet a tiny fleck of oven cleaner would eat deep.into the cornea super fast. Before you could say, "God save the queen" you would be on your way to the sink to wash your cratered eyeball. Cool video.
ОтветитьBritish Steel! Sheffield!
ОтветитьMisguiding information.
You should first take out the electric actuator.
Then you should clean the residues with some solvents, not water based.
I do not recommend this cleaning method, unless you want to get rid of your EGR valve.
