If you got nothing this will help you like to get fitted for clubs to me i seen how the club speed an things was close.Then something fun on the course the distance is for the course start with cause no golf course around here is flat so its just idea start with..Even Bryson said this high dollar one dont transment to the course anyway with it numbers

Your lighting is not ideal

I liked the concept - enough to pay for a year. But have largely resigned myself to the fact that I have contributed to a good cause. It absolutely DOES NOT work. yes, maybe every 3 shots out of 10 sound about right. But it isn’t reliable or, in any manner helpful.

But I am hopeful at some point it will - and my little contribution will help the team behind this.

PLEASE tell me what is that AWESOME setup you have in your yard made up of?? Are you hitting a real ball? The screen is amazing! So close too!

It is really odd that thye phone is set up behind you. Is that right or is it supposed to be nex to the launch monitor? It looks like your feet would be blocking the view especially for angle of attach and face angle.

Even if the Iphone app is not very accurate it would still be useful for comparing different swing motions while practicing to see which one gives you the higher speed.

i think is problem might be the lighting? lots of shadows. I would have turned the low lighting option on in settings...Have you tried that?

I don’t understand your canning it comparing it a 20k unit? I shoot into a net and want to know if it’s roughly right. Sure it’s 20-40 yards out but it’s better than nothing. Also helped with angle of attack for me and made a difference.

I’ve not seen one of your “at home” videos before, I really like the mat and net you’re using.

Light is important with this app. Many reviews claim very clearly that indoors the app is not so great. And outdoors if lighting is closer to dawn or dusk the results are lacking. The sky looks bright enough....but you can clearly see in this yard the shadows about half way down the fence meaning that everything below half way down the fence is in poor light. According to most reviews this will not work.

The thing is it sounds consistent. You can get the averages vs a high priced monitor and get an idea

I notice the mat you are hitting off appears to be not very stable which could be affecting the readings. I have watched other vids about this and they seem to be more consistent.

Mark I’ve the Swing caddy sc200, I use it mostly to gain club and ball speed. I’ve taken it to the range and had it up against the Toptracer monitor.. a few yards difference but nothing way off.. please review a swing caddie up against the gc quad.

It’s a tricky thing these launch monitor apps, if I’m gonna practice I would want to know or more importantly have confidence in the numbers in what I’m using. The thing is the quad is very expensive for the home simulator for most, so I thank you for testing all the others to see what can give good numbers at an affordable price.

Did I miss something with everyone saying "I want a home sim"? That aside, I wonder if the makers of this (or other similar apps), will be trying to make use of the LIDAR available on the iphone 12? That should, I think, improve accuracy considerably.

i want a home sim, great to collect some data during yet another lockdown.

I have the Shot Vision app as well and have had the exact same results. Was very frustrating. I tried everything, camera placement, lighting, darker backdrop, towels under it for stability and still rarely detected my swing/ball and when it did pick it up the numbers were all over the place. Maybe someday they’ll perfect the phone simulator app but it’s not today. Until then I’ll be saving for a launch monitor.

What do you think of top tracer ranges? I know you did a bit of promotion for them but do you think they are anywhere near accurate? My experience of them is that they are miles off (I don’t hit a pitching wedge 150 yards). Don’t get me wrong I think they are a step in the right direction and they make the driving range more fun, there’s no doubt about that, but, if people are using them to do their gapping, they are going to be in trouble in the real world

We agree, the experience you had with the app is not what we aim for or promote although you seemed to have a good time testing it out. We had a couple issues with certain devices and conditions which we addressed in the latest update so do give it another go as it should make a big difference. Your setup was solid but placing a folded golf towel under the tripod could help with any possible vibrations and we are not quite sure about any possible lights or reflections from the GC in the apps detection zone. Would love to get in touch and have a chat. Have a good one!

This is exactly what I found with this app. Numbers are very wrong on both carry and speed

I paid for the unlock awhile back. I have since given up on the app. Results were very inconsistent regarding ball speed and distance. I used mine with an I Pad 6 IOS 14.0 which was compatible with requirements and also used a tripod and phone mount system for stability.. Followed instructions to the letter. Disappointed to say the least. Many times shots did not register at all. A few weeks back they had an upgrade which I installed. Still no improvement in results. I saw that others had fared better with their experiences. Just would not depend on Shotvision for solid data at this time. At this point I would save my money for a device more proven.

Mark, any chance your “waggle” is messing with the sensors causing it to stop tracking shots? I doubt that would effect accuracy of the unit but it didn’t seem to pick up many of your shots.

Could you test the salter pressure insoles and see how good they are against your force plate?
