U should try the corona from Mexico and the one made in UK, I believe there's some difference.

Bond brews in Wokingham Berkshire, they do a variety of brews and would definitely give them a looking at.

I’m Austrian so my typical beers are Czech and Bavarian influenced lagers which I mostly enjoy. But recently I happened to try American Budweiser with the expectation of awfulness and I was disappointed that I actually liked it a lot. Other than most beer lovers I enjoy the very mild taste and the incredible drinkability. So much so that by now it became one of my favorites.

You can always tell when a 5%abv lager is brewed in the UK under license

Carlsberg is my favorite light beer. We call it "Viking Budweiser" here. I prefer heavier Ales & Porters for the most part :-D

That was really interesting. When mass market beers are all that's available, I usually go for Stella or Heineken, because they are reasonably drinkable.

I think most craft beers are nasty, it seems like they try so hard to stand out it gets funky and the whole tripling down on hops ruins the taste. The way I look at it if you need to acquire a taste it sucks. I remember sneaking beer as a child and regular ol American lager tasted good but if you had handed me one of the snobby hopy craft beers i would have spit it out saying yuk! A kid has no reason to give a shit either way so there opinion is pretty honest, is there pallets mature no but the main nasty or not nasty is spot on.

Rheinbacher is brewed in Germany, by their purity laws and is a far better lager than any you had there. The fact that you didn't pick that up, puts my trust in your taste pallet in jeopardy.

Peroni is great.

'Corona' that will be in the clear bottle then, probably light struck , don't quote me but I think the idea is to serve it as close to freezing with a piece of ubiquitous Mexican lime.

😂 you literally hated the lagers I like and liked the ones I hate. I find lager and beer to be 2 different things, a lager (carling,fosters)I will drink in larger quantities and a beer (Budweiser, peroni) I will drink to chill on a hot summers day.

Probably too difficult to organise, but I'd love to see a comparison tasting of Heineken that had been brewed in different countries. In my experience there is considerable variation (also San Miguel) and probably some of the other beers tested.

How about an Asian beer tasting. ? Asahi, Kirin, Chang, Singha, Leo etc

Be as pretentious as you want, no "craft" brewer can make a real pilsner because you can't adjunct and dry-hop your way out of it. I'd take Heineken all day over another generic, hazy, high ABV, high carb turd. Glad "crafting" beer is dying for non-scene dorks, now people without real hobbies are on to ruining bourbon.

Don't like anything I see there ! I guess I've tried a few hundred beers from around the world ! I like British Isle Beers along with Irish beers. Poland makes some decent beers as well.

Cheap macro can be ok … it has to be ice cold, it has to be the first beer of the day and you can only have one. Then it’s refreshing and just ok.

A fun test but you was too kind. Especially worth noting that most of these uk beers are nothing like what’s available at the origin. Our importers are ruining every beer by pouring junk into a branded can. Do you think the corona was skunky because of the clear bottles?

Yeah Coors Banquet on a warm summer day to me is awesome. Mgd is pretty good also. But yeah went craft a few years ago and never looked back. Apart from way to many IPA s Canada has excellent craft brews.

The a,di beer was really good.. but last year has been meh.. but cheap. I guess its now brewed by the same brewery as Lidls Perlenbacher which is sub standard fizz brewed in France I think

well anyone whos calls themselves an expert in beer needs to have along look in the mirror then turn the light off

My local macro Lager is Wieselburger Gold, it is decent. Far better than Heineken, but a little less tasty than Pilsner Urquell. It is about the level of Stiegl Goldbräu, but I prefer Wieselburger since it is the taste I grew up with.
