I'm so glad I found your video. I was approved for GTIN exemption but when I went to add my product I got the red line blocking me from choosing GTIN. So now I see from your video that it will not show that if I am only listing in the category I was approved in.

Hi, when selling the product with GTIN exemption through FBA => do we have to put the Product ID on each product? I am wondering how will they know in Amazon logistic center that this is that product (if there won't be any code on it)? Thank you

Experts please answer- I’m trying to sell a product that’s not listed on Amazon, there are similar products already listed from the same brand but not the exact product i intend to sell, there is a brand name on the product though, how do I get an exemption? The brand name is BEARDO. Do you suggest that I list the product using my generic option that I’m already approved for?

I am in tears here...this is insane!! I got the approval from amazon for the GTIN EXEMPTION for my LTD ED book of my artworks and the numbers they gave to me are not the amount you need to fill in that area in VITAL INFO!!!

..I am a brand name around the world so I didnt think I needed that,, BUT I listed the title of book as the name and brand.. and NOT MY NAME ..so it would stay unique..what do I do now? or should I just gve up and forget about opening a store to sell my LTD ED books there??

I never got a barcode on book since each page is individually copyrighted and when I called the copyright bureau they said I dont need to get a barcode for my book ..no I see i am in a bit of trouble.

Thank you for this video. I’m currently at this stage as a new, first time seller and this GTIN exemption has been weighing heavily on my mind. These bar codes are driving me nuts. So worried about making a mistake at this point because this is how we’ll marry all the hard work negotiating , choosing and having an actual product made with an overseas manufacturer, with AMAZON! Your video made it clear that a GTIN Exemption is NOT the right decision for ME and my new brand. Thank you for amazing video. I watched many videos related to this but still have few doubts. Here is my scenario. I have a private label unregistered but I have a brand name (NOT registered, no trademark). Now, I want to apply for GTIN exemption (I saw your video on that). Can I put my brand name(unregistered) instead of writing Generic??? or always if your brand is not registered you have to write Generic. As I want to write brand name also in title of product name (when you see an item and click particular product on amazon and the page appears)
Secondly, tomorrow if I decide to get my brand registered (if sales are good), you mentioned all the hassles and issues. My question is that it is feasible right by myself without hiring legal team and all that work? Plz help!

Yes, I have got GTIN Exemption approval for my brand product. However, I still have a problem posting the item. When I get to the category page, after selecting the approval category - keep going down the path to my unique category, then instead of seeing "select category" - I saw "Learn more". This prevents going to the next page.

I’m not Brand Registered, but having been selling on Amazon for over a year. I bought my UPC code from a third party seller and not from the GS1 website. If I now want to Brand Register, can I still use my exisiting UPC codes ? Or do I need to do an GTN exemption because of my UPC codes. Just a little confused. I have used the 565 error code so I can put my brand name in. Thanks in advance.

I have followed all the steps explained by you in this video. It tells me you have the approval to list products under this category selecting the product category & Brand/Publisher. However, when I click on 'Add a Product', and when I select the same category, 'Product ID' is still a mandatory field. I would REALLY REALLY appreciate if you could help me on this!!

Holy freak'n frick, I have spent hours trying to add a new product as we had months ago. And the gtin exemption never got anywhere when step by step on other videos. It was the need for an upper case G in Generic that made the difference, I could not find the issue anywhere. Thanks a lot, Wish I had seen your video first.
