LMAO!!! That never fails to make me laugh when Leia says that.
After all these years, this scene remains just as edge-of-your-seat exciting! There was something soo awesome seeing Han and Leia narrowly avoiding capture... especially with someone like Vader in pursuit. This whole episode is made even more urgent against the background of the Empire having basically handed the Rebellion a significant defeat (ahhhhhh back when SW still had stakes)! A great scene from an extraordinary and most excellent movie! 👍👍
ОтветитьInteresting that they reused Leia’s “mynock scream” when the ice ceiling collapsed. Her scream in the original version was less audible.
That image threw me off at first. Would have been nice for a shot like that, with the Falcon emerging from the base cave, to have been added to the remaster, a la the excellent revised Mos Eisley takeoff.
The end of this scene always makes me tear up a little: The suspense of Vader coming for you, getting the Falcon started, the music, and then Luke is able to see his friends have escaped the planet.
ОтветитьAny seconds later and Vader would've torn the MF the same way he did with the ship that Obi-Wan 'supposedly' escaped in, lol!
ОтветитьI wonder how much equipment the Rebels had to leave behind during the evacuation. From the time the probe discovers the base to the attack is less than a day, right? 24 hours at most?
Ответитьwhy do they remember to use the Ax-108 "Ground Buzzer" pop out guns on the falcon this time and never before or since?
ОтветитьOne of the sweetest sounding ships EVER.:)
ОтветитьThis scene has an unbelievably good soundtrack!
John Williams was a genius
I remember watching this and getting goosebumps hoping they'd make it. Harrison Ford just made Han Solo with his brash, cavalier, devil-may-care attitude and charismatic style. And he was always trying to turn death into a fighting chance for life, much like another beloved Captain we all know. Just love this scene. 👍🏾
ОтветитьAll these comments about how Vader should have just grabbed the Falcon and pulled it back. Perhaps he could, but maybe the first time zapped him out and he didn't want to go through that again. Also, remember, he has mechanical arms. I know he's pretty powerful (chosen one) but maybe The Force is stronger from fully organic beings. On another note this scenario popped into my head: instead of running away from Vader and the Empire, Leia is trying to get away from her father who's about to catch her and her boyfriend (Han) in his house or something. He knows Han's there, so they're both making a break for it as sneaking out is no longer an option.
ОтветитьRogue Squadron 3 exclusive dialogue:
(Part 1)
Leia: The Medical Area looks intact.
Han: We should grab some supplies.
(part 2)
3PO: Captain Solo, there it is! We're saved!
Han: There's the Falcon! Move!
As a kid, I always thought that Chewbacca’s look at “let’s hope we don’t have a burnout” was him thinking, “Oh crud, I didn’t consider that.”
Looking back, I guess it was actually, “Oh crud, there’s a bunch of stormtroopers getting ready to use us for target practice.”
Millenium Falcon. 😍
ОтветитьThe Hoth scenes were among my very favorites in the entire series.
ОтветитьI love how it took all of 5 minutes for Leia to regret her words.
ОтветитьIt's a good thing for Leia that MOST of us was not Han Solo, otherwise she would have been left behind with that sarcasm.
ОтветитьI always liked that Luke saw the Falcon fly out and away, knowing his friends made it out. Just one of those little moments that stuck with me and that I liked.
ОтветитьGreat artwork if only that camera shot of your caption card was used in film, just before seeing Luke.
ОтветитьGary And Gerald Leading The Charge Like The Good Troopers They Are.
ОтветитьFor the first time in the theater, I've always loved the three seconds where they have the exterior shot of the Falcon and you can hear it trying to start and failing...just like some horribly overused, beat up junker of a car that barely runs but goes like hell once it does start.
ОтветитьThat Vader entrance was so damn tuff
Ответить"Hurry up, Goldenrod! You're gonna be a permanent resident!"
ОтветитьI suppose the dramatic effect of this scene was good, but why on earth do all those snowtroopers and Darth Vader himself need to bother entering the base? They couldn't just have a couple AT-AT's fire at will and obliterate the whole base?
ОтветитьThat scene when Han beat on the wall to turn on the Falcon must be replicated by Rey when she and Finn tried to turn on the Falcon again.
Ответить"HURRY UP, GOLDENROD!! YOU'RE GONNA BE A PERMANENT RESIDENT!!"
I always loved that line. Lol
Querry : "hot base capture leia"
ОтветитьIf they knew the Empire had a blockade set up in space just above the atmosphere of Hoth (seemingly right above Echo Base, why didn’t the Rebels and the Falcon leave on a different route?
ОтветитьThey left three people behind
Ответить“This bucket of bolts is never gonna get us past that blockade”.
“This baby’s got a few surprises left in her sweetheart.”
Han proceeds to activate one of the Falcon’s party pieces - an auto Gatling laser that virtually wipes out an entire squad of Snow Troopers in under 60 seconds!
Vader must be so sick of arriving at the scene JUST in time to see his enemy's ship barely escape. That's got to get old.
ОтветитьI can't imagine watching this on the movies back in 1980 epic! My dad did i was born 8 years later :I 😂
Ответить“Someday you’re going to be wrong and I just hope I’m there to see it.” Well, he was wrong about trusting Lando at Cloud City…
ОтветитьRigut at the start of this clip, to the left on the door is a yelliw sign. That was a warning wampas were held in there and C-3PO rips it off the door. Snowtroopers then enter and get attacked. It was filmed but cut.
ОтветитьI love how a constant theme in this trilogy is how irritated Han Solo is at C3PO at all times lmao
ОтветитьWho else thinks Snowtroopers are due a return?
