I drove an unmolested 280ZX for a while and took great pleasure in dusting those Corvette slugs that were contemporaries with it. This said I'd rather drive a Z Car than any Corvette save for the 1957 Vette.

It would be pretty awesome for the rotsun to end up with a full tube chassis hidden under that rust.. So it functioned, handled and was somewhat safe..

Just put the overnighted preassembled specials back together as they arrived from the shipper. Install them as intended. Insert a 3/4 to 1" (whatever is needed) shim on each end to allow for the extra axel length, much like a wheel spacer. Replace existing hardware with high quality longer bolts to hold it all together. DONE! Is it the right fix? No. BUT is it Roadkill spec?... I think we all know the answer.
