I'm finally getting around to watching Black Clover and while I watched this fight, I was amazed with how people were genuinely mad at this. I've heard so many bad things about it but it genuinely was very entertaining. Now I cannot deny the actual art of the fight was less than stellar at times but I definitely enjoyed the experimental animation. It felt like such a needed change of pace compared to the less than average animation of the rest of the episodes. I appreciate the animators who worked on this so much.

when I rewatch a second time I realize how it as pretty low budget, but my standards are low and when I watched this the first time i thought it was badass.

They literally used up 98% of their budget on the animation only, but saved like 3 bucks for the lava tsunami's art 💀

to me this is sadder than sukuna vs mahoraga, you can see that its great core animation with no rendering and no time for the sfx team to polish it

This fight looks now like, an insanely good fight animation in a Lethal Compagny graphic style

Much like Naruto vs Pain, I can respect what the animators were trying to do. Asta vs Vetto showed that Studio Pierrot could deliver and that Black Clover didn't have to be the ugly duckling compared to Boruto.

And this fight took a leap of faith so that the future fights' animation could soar.

I understand disliking the art style, it is indeed very unusual, but saying you can't understand what's happening? Do those people have eyes? To me it's very clear who's doing what and how the fight's going and affecting the environment at any moment

funny how back then this was considered bad and today look at JJK they get praised hard. HAHAHAH black clover was ahead of its time! INCREDIBLE
