Maybe we are not looking for who we are
Maybe we are looking for a different concepts for truth

But what I know, our identify is not the truth

It is something more beyond than that

LDS commitment is really no different from any other Orthodox religion. It's Control ,my friend. Except that LDS is extreme.
Good luck on your journey . You'll be okay. Just don't look Back. Keep moving Forward! It's a Big ole world with lots of thoughts and experiences. Most religions are cult like. . If you " stray's you'll know Different and wonderful things. YOU are God! We are all God inside. You'll do fine.🙏✌️💜

I'm not Mormon, but I married into a Mormon family. The LDS church is fascinating, still not LDS but I've researched it extensively. Would love to connect and converse about it, my husband doesn't talk about his upbringing or the church.

My sister also married a former LDS, his middle name is even Moroni.

Faith and varying belief systems have always fascinated me.

John 14:1-6
King James Version
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I understand that with these doctrines, you can be left half empty and would make you away from God. I am here to assure you, with all the science and truth, Jesus is the God and encourage everyone to look on the Bible KJV only whenever you are searching for God next.

I’m not a mormon but as a Christian I’m sorry you went through that. I hope this experience doesn’t astray you from the love inside church. This video got me thinking that nowadays churches are usually trying to emphasize lover over rules in order to comply with God’s Message

They believe that in return for blind obedience to manmade rules and authority, paying large amounts of money, following temple rituals, handshakes, wearing outfits and secret underwear that they can obtain the top level of heaven where they will practice polygamy and that they will also be rewarded with 'blessings' or material rewards in this life, with wealth and power.

I stopped going to Catholic Church in my late 30s. My parents were very disappointed. I joined another spiritual group whose beliefs align much more with mine. I’m very happy with my current spiritual practice, but there’s always a bit of guilt because I feel that I’ve let my family down. They sometimes say that they don’t understand how I could have been born and raised in the church and don’t believe what I was taught. I keep reminding them that it wasn’t something I chose for myself. No one asked me or gave me an option as a child. Now as an adult, I am able to think for myself and make up my own mind about what I truly believe about God. There are so many things wrong with many main stream religious beliefs. There are positive things, too, of course. I wouldn’t be who I am today without having had that experience. However, I disagree with the strict doctrine, the belief that all scripture is divine revelation and the way the Catholic church uses the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation to control people. The church’s long history of corruption and scandals also doesn’t sit well with me.
I have cousins who also have left the church and have had to deal with backlash from very religious family members. It’s an extremely difficult situation to deal with. No one should be forced to follow something that doesn’t resonate with them. I truly believe that organized religion was created as a system of control. If it was only about having a relationship with God, there wouldn’t be so much pressure to conform.

Mormons believe they can work themselves up to becoming Gods just like they believe Jesus was once mortal and worked his way up. Works based salvation as taught by the LDS is not Christian. The belief that you can become a God is called Satanism. LDS worship themselves, not the Jesus of the Bible.

Sounds like a cult. Rituals won’t define your spiritual existence with God. Sometimes family can hold you back from fulfilling your full potential. No one has the full picture.

At the end of the day leaving a religion is realizing you have been victim of an incredibly subtle and powerfully violent form of mental abuse. You have been brainwashed, rewired in a certain mindset and you cannot see in the society people saying “hey, that is not good!” But you have the actual opposite: you see people that you love, chained to those chains and telling you “why do you want to hurt us by leaving these beautiful chains?”.
And the stare of disappointment is the final crushing pain that you have caused pained in your quest for the truth and freedom you now have.
It is a never ending story of sadness that covers everything and getting away is so hard

I was waiting for it and BOOM mid-way through I got the "heteronormative" word. When people leave one cult they tend to join another one. In this case LDS > Progressivism. People who want to free their minds, truly free them should travel the world, view other cultures and be a real student but instead its a trade usually.

Now that you have left the church, what about the covenants you made with a solemn promise to keep the commandments. What kind of "education" are you giving your child? That is if you don't get your way, you will pick up your marbles and go home? I say to you, just like Billy Graham said years ago...Repent, repent, repent before it is too late. Let the Love of the Savior fill your heart. Also, listen to David Alexander in Australia who has heard all of the negative junk and still joined the church. Or, listen to Dusty Smith and a whole host of others who have left and then come back because they realized that they were wrong and the Church really is the only true and living church on the face of the earth that has the true apostolic and prophetic power it claims it has. Have a good day.

I was born and raised Catholic up until I was fifteen.
I didn't know that there was any other religion aside from Catholicism.
I did everything, I had the godparents. I did my first communion. I did my confirmation. I went to church every Sunday, I did my confessions on Saturdays. I sang in the church choir, again I was very heavily involved in the Catholic Church up until I was as I said about 15.

This was when I moved to Texas feom Puerto Rico, and on a Saturday afternoon this man knocked on our door and told my mom about his church and he was a church bus driver and he that he comes into our complex and picks up kids to take them to church and wanted to know if my mom wanted to come with us and also have us go to church.

This was a Baptist Church I was so confused why would my mom let me go to a Baptist Church. I was raised Catholic I had heard the term Baptist but I didn't know what Baptist meant and I was hurt why would my mom betray what we know.
But we went, I actually consider that church was the best thing that could have happened to me. it allowed me to start having my own mind and thinking for myself and questioning religion.

To make a super long story kind of short. I have had four instances where I have turned to my priest, pastor, minister for help as you should and those people have essentially turned their backs on me, told me I was unfixable, told me that I was beyond help.
one of those ministers called me Jezebel (In gront of my teen daughters).
I had another call me useless as a parent as a wife as a daughter.

This has made me really give up on religion as a whole. I still believe I just don't believe the way I used to.
I question everything. I look at everything with the mind of we're supposed to follow a book that was translated by fallible men to fit their agenda depending on the time period or depending on the version that you're reading.

I have a problem with the Bible above All Else.

Hummm say U, ever been to Nebraska, you look very familiar. 12 years older though. I grew up as Mormon as well. My love for God & Jesus will never change, but once your grow up and see it for what it is you have matured and the church's teachings will know longer feed your soul. Happened to me around age 19. My journey since family comes first and as for religion and the beginnings go much further and the shroud of how the Bible came into play and what was before those biblical times is what I study and read up on Now these days. I still force of habit live my life to his teachings I'm just know longer involved with the church. Happiness and personal growth is by far more important then being a slaved to someone else's system.. I'm very glad I ran into your page. Lately thinking about his return and the meaning of why I feel it may happen within our life times.

It really sounds like you were in a cult. Many religions feel like they are cults in disguise. Like we're not a cult but if you leave your entire family dis owns you, or in some cases like Islam they'll cut your head off. But they don't want to be called a cult because that has a very negative connotation with the general public.

you find a belief, that can give you security. As a Bible believeing christian, I believe that it is important to question your belief if you really want to believe it. The Bible even says that we should test God, and search and study for the truth. However, be blessed, I know you'll find your way. I'll pray for you bro

Hey Johnny I love watching your video! I never been Mormon but as some one who has been deeply hurt by religion as well. My family went to a church that split while I was in my teenage years and I felt lost, I didn't know what I believe. I didn't want to believe in a God just because my family told me to. So I searched for Him. I used both biblical resources and non-biblical resources. One night though my searching I had a dream that I was in a field with a cliff I remember looking down the chiff and seeing Earth. Feeling confused and burdened, then a man in white run up to me (who I believe is Jesus) hugged me and said "Great job my son" then I woke up. I encouraged you to look for that man. Not who the world says He is but what your heart says He is. I realize all these years later that even though I have been hurt by religion and sometimes even religious people still hurt me today. However Jesus Christ has never hurt me. And just like what he did for me he wants to remind you that you are Loved!

The whole fear of losing your family if you leave a certain religion is a clever tool. Cults of all kinds do this to stop you leaving. Honestly watching videos like this makes me so happy and proud that my parents were not at all religous. And I got to live a normal life. At 45 with two young sons I teach and talk to them about all religions. And how they are not real. I want them to be free too.
