Who managed to get that far in the game without the GE

Truly blows my mind that players back then without the use of the GE managed to make so much progress.

GE is a double edged sword. Gives you more streamlined access to items, and therefore quicker game progression, but it killed the social interaction. part of selling and buying with players was chilling in these big cities meeting new people, flexing the gear you got and the outfits you could make, Drop parties, and areas in general just being populated.

The same music hits completely different in this context. Takes you right back to when you first played.

Back when everybody followed you when you wore a skillcape especially the quest cape or the prayer cape.

The G.E is a MASSIVE time saver, but also a game killer in regard to nostalgia and feel.... its a shame =(

I much preferred when the area was empty woodland -- it felt like it fit more with the wilderness just being around the corner. However, I don't think the G.E. in itself is bad but I think it would have been better just to be a banking feature.

I honestly miss Varrock Center and banks being trade hubs.
