I had this on cassette as a child and listened on my player in bed hidden under the covers. Thanks for the bed time stories Mr Lee😊

This is one of the finest and indeed supreme readings of the great Edgar Allan Poe that I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. And the fact that I’m receiving this treasure for free is such a blessing.

His voice seems as though it were founded out of the depths of a deep cavern. Him reading Shakespeare would be something else!

Many agree -- every child learns to appreciate great literature, the vast enigma figuring life, when happily, luckily, discovering Poe.

Sir, Sir Chris, I love Old Buildings and stories of old entities and the atmosphere of the place. Sir, I dare you to spend the night
in the laundry in Ganges. That is where the Green Gilby lives.

Browsed to find this. Knew that Lee would be worth the effort. Read all the Poe as a child and again and again over the years. A wonderful writer who embraced his shadow and revealed that we all have one long before anyone heard of Freud orJung. A subtle champion of the disinherited and the despised. He was deeply acquainted with cruelty, enjoyed a brief respite of kindness with his young wife who was then taken brutally by poverty and disease. And then he died a painful death! The ultimate triumph his alone, however. None remember his detractors. Whatever were their birthright stature, wealth or faith, the afterlife is his! There’s justice in that and a certain consolation.

De dechets et du sang... brulant... ...tus.... Of offal and of the blood... ...burning... ...still.... by ilhruduxr souillee dhh ilhdhhpessimisumndtstaphylodompsistuuumourisxqvllllllltsz amazon
As a disease of lesions upon the wasting flesh, leaving with us in its vellum ulcer of desire, death, and incestuous incubation one solemn memory of that overwhelmingly importunate yet heavy, noir, and languourous season of lust-softest maturity-and most sweet dissolution;-love doth the condemned soul move.

Defeat, my Defeat, my shining sword and shield,
In your eyes I have read
That to be enthroned is to be enslaved,
And to be understood is to be leveled down,
And to be grasped is but to reach one’s fullness
And like a ripe fruit to fall and be consumed.
