How To Unlock Necrochasm & Catalyst (Bottomless Pit Exotic Quest) | Destiny 2 Season of the Witch

I’m actually in favor of this method to get raid exotics because as long as you do the raid and are willing to help others you will get it instead of running say deep stone over and over with no eyes of tomorrow lol

I'm late to this as this video just popped up on my feed, but idk if it's a bug or RNG gods, but once I got to step 2 (collect oversouls) the next time I killed crota he dropped 37 lol which finished my 4/20 progress and should give me 21 towards catalyst 😅

As someone who has beat atheon to a pulp over a hundred times and still doesn’t have vex mythoclast, I’m in full support of raid exotics behind quests 👍

I’m not ecstatic about contest mode completions getting the full weapon. There are those of us that don’t have the super duper clans or fire team lists capable of getting the raid done in the 48 hours. I’ve tried, but either way doesn’t matter to me. I’m just glad that Bungie didn’t stick with the random drop exotic weapon chance at the boss and boss only. The rng doesn’t like some folks, I including me.

This quest is racist against people with no friends

So I just got 35 essences from a single crota drop. In my collections, it says catalyst complete, but it’s not there in the gun itself. Does this mean I still have to do the secret mechanics but I’ve skipped the RNG grind?

What if i got rid of husk? I cant find how to get it now

While I love necrochasm... I will not get it. Its way to much bother to obtain, compared to its functionally identical counterpart Osteo Striga.

I'm not sure if it's required to complete the raid for the gun itself, I've received it for completing one of the encounters, however the quest line does appear at Crota's end :p

so bummed, i have necrochasm and i have the catalyst completed but it wont apply to the gun in game!

I'm tired of weapons being locked behind raids especially guns i already had before they done away with them and should still have i beat the raid the 1st time around and i bought the game like everyone else yet I miss out due to work and responsibilities and so do others we were supposed to be able to play how we wanted and still be able to get everything

Tbh doing the entire raid is better considering that it notninly gives a chance at more oversouls, but it also grants spoils for more than one time, going to orbit, than hoping into an lfg to do it again. Although with the oversoul update now i think its better to farm crota

Are we going to be able to pull or keep Eidolon ally AR? As it’s been bugged out from pulling it from collections, and I thought I read somewhere bungie are trying to fix that.
As I think you lose Eidolons when you turn it into Necro’s, is this correct?
Will we be able to pull it from collections?

Everytime I think about comming back to D2 I see a stupid quest that involves some stupid raid mechanics no one enjoys and I just nope right out. Maybe bungie should make some casual content. I hope they go broke

I want to do raids and I'm good at picking up on mechanics and stuff but I 1 got into d2 way late just 4 or 5 seasons ago and only a couple season ago was I consistently farming, building, and doing more challenging content. And 2 my squad just doesn't. 3 of us regularly run dungeons, 1 plays off and on and the others play once a year kinda blows ngl

really good set up with the acquisition of Necrochasm. I will say there are far too many oversouls required. i have 6, and ive completed 5 full runs at this time

Buddy of mine got his 20 over souls after 63 runs of crota CP.

Bungie confirmed on a forum post that you will get 1 essence per encounter per account per week.

So basically every encounter on your fifst run of the week should drop a essence and aftet that its RNG.

Why did they make the quest actually awful? Where’s the mystery? Back in the day, husk would just drop from hive anywhere in the system, starting a secret quest that you dont know the result of. It’s little changes or design choices like this that d2 makes that just kills the world and mystery of the game. Not to mention the insanity of 20 rng drops instead of 1 crux of crota. What a joke.

Bungie has stated that 1 Essence per week per account is guaranteed upon completion of the raid. The rest are RNG.

Having a quest for raid exotics is nice change to the rng, however blam the essence of oversoul farm.

Drop rate is horrific

This was totally not worth it. Too much of a grind.

The way Necrochasm was handled is a huge upgrade in my opinion. I've been lucky enough to get raid weapons on my first couple runs, but I have friends that still don't have vex after 70+ runs.

Best place to farm it's YUT not crota cuz YUT one phase 100% and you can't fictup with oversoul or randomly die from crota and don't get one phase.

So i run thru the enitre raid with husk of the pity an it only move by 8 an i killed alot of enemy

so literal 55 oversouls to have necrochasm + cata? and its RNG (beside maybe 5-10 via triumph) ? yea... no thx.
