Getting Japan PR (Permanent Residence) Visa || Timeline, Requirements & Tips!

I'm half European half japanese, 16. Visited Japan a couple of times to visit family for a month at a time. Hopefully one day I can live there cause I love it, mostly cause of the people (I speak Japanese alright, gonna improve it though)

I am in the process of getting my permanent residence and I am nervous since I have not yet submitted my files. It appears that the requirements are more extensive than what is published on their site, is that correct? I am happy to hear that you can send missing documents by mail that is a relief at least. I didn't realize it took so long, and that I'd need to renew my Spouse visa regardless (it expires in a month), so based on your info I've decided to just renew my Spouse visa and go for the PR at a later time because it sounds like too much of a headache to do both at the same time!

Very useful video!! I am also in a similar situation as yours. The video, did not mention too many details about the income requirement, and I also checked on the internet, and it only mentioned that we need at least 3 million yen annual income plus the dependants. I am wondering if foreign income also counts in the application of PR. I think I have matched all the requirements of PR except 'stable income' which I am not sure about.

did you pass your requirements alone? or together with your husband? My husband can't go with me because he has work. I wonder if it can affect their judgement if you submit the requirements alone.

I applied for my PR last june 06 2022, and so far no calls or emails from the immigration office that i lack documents it's been 3 months since then. I assume i pass the PR application? Hopefully praying😁🙏🏻
Btw my visa at first is 1yr then 1yr then 3yrs. I only have 4 months left before my visa expires in January 2023.
Hopefully my hagaki will arrive before that time or else i need to collect requirements AGAIN and apply for extension.

So jealous! I studied in Japanese university and graduated. I live and work here for 14 years, married to a Japanese with a baby but was denied PR. I will apply again next year (may be). I’m still traumatised by the deny so l will wait a bit more. Reason for the deny was late payment of nenkin. So it was pretty crucial to have all your taxes paid on time.

1. Is there a online status check once we apply for PR to see if we are in some waiting queue and estimate time to process it ?
2. if a person has a HSP visa, does the process take shorter since HSP holder get a preferential treatment ?
