I'm just f***ing lucky to remember when these (or most of them) made their debut. I pity the poor sods who are force-fed the diarrhea that passes for music these days.

I was born in the early 50s and I got to see The Beatles on Ed Sullivan that changed my whole life.
I am thankful that I got to be Exposed to all the wonderful music. From rock and roll to psychedelic There wasn't a better time on Earth for music.
I don't listen to a lot of the old Music Anymore Like I Used To but if You WANT your mind to be blown completely away Listen to (Deep Purple sweet child in time) There are so many that I love, Pink Floyd being one of them comfortably numb one of my very very favorites.
Led Zeppelin I can't even begin to start.
You young people have so many choices and so many ways to go it must be wonderful, Look backwards once in a while and see what the freaks were doing Back in the 60s and 70s

66 i was only 12 but had witnessed the change from that night in 63 on ed sullivan beatles changed things in such a major way i sometimes wonder if we really realize the change that went on from that moment in music history. The one really cool thing was my friend had a older sister who hooked us onto fm radio and thongs were never the same.

Good list. Three I might include are "When I Was Young" by the Animals, "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" by the Yardbirds, and "Venus in Furs" by the Velvet Underground.

Any particular reason why you didn’t list title and artist on each? Kids asinine and defeats the purpose of a list if you don’t include such pertinent information.

THANKS FOR HIGHLIGHTING GREAT TIMES, BACK IN STYLE! Born in LA, LOVE The Doors, but 'Light My Fire' is Rock. Beach Boys are Great, yet as sugar pop soft as early Beatles, including 'Penny Lane'. Beatles 'TNK', and Donovan's 'Sunshine Superman' (charted #1 in UK), 'Season Of The Witch' (Jimmy Page Guitar), 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' were def Quintessential Psych Hits. Buffaloe Springfield (Stephen Stills's Country-Psych hit 'For What It's Worth') played at Palos Verdes's Rolling Hills High School prom. San Francisco Bay Area's Quicksilver Messenger Service, John Cippolina on guitar, deservingly went GOLD, often playing w It's A Beautiful Day band at Fillmore West. Hot Tuna, spinoff of The Airplane, was post 1968, yet definitely worth Honorable Psychedelic Mention. Along w Arlo Guthrie's 'Running Down The Road' and 'Darkness Darkness' by The Youngbloods.
