Considering all the hours invested in the manufacture of each lens (irrespective of marque), the price one pays for each optic is more than justified; I cannot remember a time when I griped about the cost of any of my lenses, tho' it is understood the process for build has been largely automated - the final checks, I imagine, are all now done by computers. Fascinating insight into optical construction.
ОтветитьYa I don't know how they make money with that?
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьAs fascinating as this is. Ill never be mad about paying the price for a lens again. The engineering is just beautiful. But I bet these people still make 15 an hour. 🥲
ОтветитьAmazing amount of man hours goes into these lenses. This video is 16 years old as I'm watching it. I wonder how much more automated the process is now in 2023? Thanks for posting this vid!
ОтветитьWhy does the theme actually go pretty hard
ОтветитьI just bought a Sony 24-70 2.8 GM II for £2099... I left the store thinking, that was fairly expensive but now it all makes sense. Fantastic lens by the way.
ОтветитьThere's an oversimplification here. Coatings are not just for protection. They serve a purpose in how the light is transmitted through them.
ОтветитьHello everyone after 16 years of wondering why these lens are so expensive
Ответитьoldest video that has randomly popped up, 16 years is WILD
ОтветитьWhy arent these people covered in lint free clothing? Even flakes of dead skin can lower the quality. These must be cheap lenses.
Ответитьstupid music annoying and distracting
Ответитьالفيديو قبل 15سنه🤐😮
Ответить$2,000 for a good camera doesn't seem all that expansive now.
ОтветитьI wont be complaining why lenses cost so much
ОтветитьRussians can't produce this and scramble parts from foreign products for their military drones lmao XD
ОтветитьIf you need a microscope (which contains a lens) to makes lenses, how was the first lens made?
ОтветитьGreat Lens making Video, thanks for sharing
ОтветитьWhy aren’t they in a clean room?
ОтветитьNo, it's not in my recommendation, i searched for it
Ответить2021 :>
Ответитьsuper film and musik!!! :))))
ОтветитьWanna see how the modern lens are made
ОтветитьBeat in the beginning go hard🔥
ОтветитьMusic very annoying
ОтветитьThe script was clearly written by a dad.. with the amount of puns
ОтветитьWhat causes different colored flares?
Ответить2018!?
ОтветитьWhat do they use to clean the lenses?
ОтветитьDoes anybody know,,,,,, which company produces or assembles this TV camera?? Also, who can be suppliers of this product for this company?? Thank you in advance.
Ответитьdamn that's a hot beat
Ответитьwho is watching on 2016
ОтветитьI'm addicted to the music in the first portion.
ОтветитьThis fucking music in the first half.
ОтветитьSeems pretty old school. I hope they upgraded their process.
Ответить6 week 1 lenses?
Ответитьwhat the serious fuck?! you can't automatically engrave letters?
ОтветитьNow I understand why lenses are so dam expensive..
Ответитьdamn dude, clean your fingernails.
Ответитьthank you very interesting
ОтветитьLot of patience and attention is required for this procedure........
ОтветитьI don't want to see this. I DEMAND TO SEE HOW A LEICA ASPHERICAL LENS IS GROUND AND POLISHED!
ОтветитьThe fluorite element for the Canon 1200mm telephoto lens takes a whole year to grow.
ОтветитьTo everyone who keeps weeping about it taking 6 weeks for a lens. Get it. They are producing LARGE VOLUMES/TIME UNIT! ! ! And besides, it is obvious that some areas are open for improvment, but that they don't show it. Like the the time they put into cleaning the lenses. Making the entire operation in a dust-free zone (like the electronics factories) would save many work-hours, just by that alone! But still, one got to give them respect. after all, lenses got to be crystal clear.
ОтветитьI'm pretty certain this is the time taken for raw materials to be processed into a lens. It's not just one lens at a time; they're doing this in giant batches making thousands of lenses at a time.
Ответитьyea true.....no wonder why they so damn expensive
ОтветитьThat's the type of pretentious thinking Canon relies on to sell their overpriced mediocre L lenses.
ОтветитьDon't be so gullible. Canon doesn't make their lenses that way. That's why a good kitlens with image stabilizer costs 100$. The Canon L lenses (where L stands for loser) is just to milk the pro sheep who foolishly pay big money for an ego booster.
