ОтветитьCompared with other teachers, you are number 1 for me.
ОтветитьNothing compares to you ( I already made a statement), Let's compare this store with the stores (I don't have a statement yet)
ОтветитьPlz tell us defrence between " about and related".
ОтветитьI've used "compared to" and "compared with" interchangeably all through my life.
I was so short that my friends compared me to gnomes. (1)
I was so short that my friends compared me with gnomes. (2)
For me both 1 and 2 mean the same thing - because of my height at that time, my friends thought I looked like a gnome.
To stress on differences, I'd write in the following manner-
I'm a human being, in contrast to gnomes which are not human and are magical.
Great lesson, thank you ❤
ОтветитьHi Jennifer! Thank you! Examples: 1) She likes to compare herself to her mother. 2) Cotton is softer compared with aluminum.
Ответить🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьEnlightening! I love the day-to-day English. Grounded. Never alienating. Keep it up!☕️😎👍
ОтветитьLearned something new.
But one question: are these two the same as "liken to". I think they are but "liken to" is not commonly used in everyday english, am I right?
Hi
ОтветитьWow, congratulations teacher!
ОтветитьIt's useful ,thank you.
ОтветитьIs the use of "compared to/with" together with comparative adjective (smaller, higher, larger, etc.) wrong/not recommended?
For instance, how wrong are the following sentences?
1) On average, men are taller compared to/with women.
2) Participants' anxiety was higher during the first exam compared to the second exam.
3) Compared to male participants, female participants’ general anxiety was significantly higher.
4) Compared to male participants, female participants exhibited significantly higher general anxiety.

Ответитьthanks for clearing the confusion.
ОтветитьAt the beginning of the video you have said ,"This is a question that a student had submitted". Why did you use past perfect immediately? There is no mention of past before the sentence. So ma'am why. Plz explain. Plz plz plz. I am unable to understand. 🙏🙏🙏. I am looking forward to getting your reply.
ОтветитьComparing yourself to others is the easiest way to failure .
Let's compare your dog with our dog .
I have always unerstood that "compare with" is where "with" is used to show an instrumentive object, and so when I say, "Let's compare this apple with this red apple", we are using the instrumentive object as the standard in order to determine the differences whereas when we use "compare to", it is just the comparison between two objects with no standard being expressed. E.g. Compared to him, I am better.
In this case, the person that you are comparing against is not the standard, and so the comparison is relative. However, I guess it works in roughly the same way.
Also, I liked the video, and I actually do animations on my channel to help my students with their English. Have a look.
Excellent mam
ОтветитьCompare... how they are alike (not how are they alike)
ОтветитьThis book is always comparisoned with this book by my sister
ОтветитьMy sister always comparisons this book to this book
ОтветитьThanks a lot,sister.
But,a point of correction,please.
1. Compare to_This is used, basically, to identify only the differences of two things or people. I mean_ONLY THE DIFFERENCES!
2. Compare with_This is used to describe both the differences and the similarities.
Be good,teacher!😊
My mother compares me to a bad girl(similarities)
My dad compares my mom with his mom(difference)
The first 3 minutes of this video are really misleading.

ОтветитьIn comparison with vs In comparison to.
Which phrase is correct to use.
According to Oxford English Dictionary only "In comparison with" is available in example sentence.
According to P.C. Das, a writer of Applied English Grammar, Only "In comparison to" is available in example sentence.
By Google searching, I have come to know that in modern English "In comparison to" is more prevalent than "In comparison with"
But in British English "In comparison with" is also used.
In this respect, which phrase is best accepted in case of competitive exam???
Thank you for your advice. It is very clear
