Thanks!
ОтветитьIt's all good It happened to me too one time 😊
ОтветитьShalom 👋 I noticed you said that you would probably eat the pie after breakfast because it was Dairy.
Is there a reason why.? I am very interested.
Your channel is wonderful. Thank you.
Thanks for the Latke variation - I’m intolerant of onions (Am on a Low FODMAP diet), so knowing that you do them with Scallions is great, as the green stalks are Low FODMAP! Latkes here I come!!!
ОтветитьChanukah sameach!
ОтветитьI love your channel, you really bless me as I watch. I love how you include your beautiful children.
❤❤❤
Sonya a trick for chocolate if a little water get in it add a little bit of oil it should smooth out it worked for me
ОтветитьIf it is any consolation, I have done the chocolate thing! It is wonderful for the children to see that sometimes things don't work out perfectly. We are human and we make mistakes, and there is no life that doesn't throw a person about a bit... It is how we deal with it, of course. Fall down, learn to stand up and keep going. Not afraid to fall again, because we got up once, we can do it again. Sorry. We were talking about chocolate and I went all philosophical, lol.
ОтветитьOh those donuts! I got to make them soon.
ОтветитьThank you! I did your latke's with modifications since I did not have all of the ingredients...it was great! Thanks!!!
ОтветитьFor new year's eve, I made the Cottage Cheese Donut recipe but instead of making it sweet, i made it savory. Substituting the sugar for garlic salt, onion powder, black pepper, and green onions. They were a hit and gone in a matter of minutes. Since I have shared the recipe with my mom and aunts. Thank you so much for sharing your delicious food with us.
Hope you and your family have a blessed 2023.
So let's talk melting chocolate:
If it gets water in there, in any form, from the double boiler or either just you ir the kids licking the spoon you're using to stir it with, it's not that it's not melting, you changed the delicate ratio of water and oils in the chocolate. What you did was the perfect solution: if water goes in, go and add some fats in it (oil/butter whatever) and as required, some water/milk. Carefully though, just the amount it needs to gain back fluid consistency that looks like meltef chocolate. You don't have to throw the chocolate out, I've saved my chocolate several times with this method!
Easier solution is to put the chocolate in the microwave on a medium to low setting, for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 45-60 seconds. No double boiler needed, but make sure it's not too high, so it doesn't burn the chocolate ;)
Like welcome good night very good
ОтветитьFrom the deepest depths of my soul i send you my sincere and perfumed greetings 🌹, i wish you the best of the best in your life
ОтветитьThis blessed me. Thank you.
ОтветитьIt is so i teresting you dont even use flour in your latkes. All the receipes claim that the latkes wont stay together without
ОтветитьI dont know what was happening but I kind of got jealous while watching this video amd for some reason now I am missing the religious part of Israel.
ОтветитьI must to make that latkes now it is still chanuka
ОтветитьMade latkes with your recipe and my mom said best ones she’s ever had! Also made the donuts and our family loved the texture and flavor. I had made your borscht recipe and when I told my family I was making your Hanukkah recipes too, they were so excited 😊
ОтветитьThank you for sharing with all of us!!
ОтветитьAs a mom of 5 and an ccu nurse, I know how things can get me stressed out. Your real life videos are precious. Your composure is inspiring to me. Your videos have really helped me in my journey. I thank Hashem for you and your family. This is our 7th year or so to celebrate the Festival of Hanukkah. Thank you for helping us celebrate! Please keep the videos coming. Happy Hanukkah! What an awesome miracle!
ОтветитьOh Sonya your Hanukkah is lovely. As a lone, isolated Jew, in a city without Jewish community, it nearly brought tears to my eyes. I need to get out of here. I deserve to have love and celebration in my life. Thank you for making me feel not quite so alone, while I'm still here.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing the recipe
ОтветитьJust realized that you are expecting a baby
ОтветитьMade the cottage cheese donuts tonight! Even with the changes I made of Israeli cottage cheese and the 80% whole wheat flour I prefer, they were w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l. Thank you so much! Freilichen chanuka!!
ОтветитьYour children are helping too. It's wonderful to see families helping one another. One hand washes the other!
ОтветитьYou don't have to be Jewish to learn about this holiday. It's a beautiful celebration of many feelings! I wasn't raised Jewish either but I still admire their 💪!
ОтветитьIt's a nice holiday. Enjoy your treats with your loved ones!
ОтветитьDo you live in New York City? I just love your cooking.
ОтветитьShalom Sonya! Love your channel! I gave your Latkes recipe a try and, let me tell you, AMAZING!!!
Thank you for sharing so openly with us. You are a great teacher! I would love to see a video on helpful kitchen accessories.
Hi Sonya, we call latkes in the Czech Republik "bramoboráky" (potatoes pancakes). I usually fresh garlic... do you also add cumin and marjoram? I always add flour to the potatoes, because otherwise the dough falls apart and doesn't bake properly. This dough is also great for variation - instead of potatoes, you can use any vegetable (cauliflower, broccoli) or legumes (lentil - it looks more like meatballs)🤗... As for melting the chocolate, I add a tablespoon of 100% shortening or unsalted butter to about 200g. If you want more solid chocolate, add less butter, if more liquid, add more butter☺... P.S.: I really admire how you manage everything with children and work together. I sometimes have a huge problem keeping the household at least a little tidy (especially before Saturday) and we only have 2 boys.🤩
ОтветитьYou needed condensed milk to add to the chocolate.
Ответитьבן כמה אתה?
ОтветитьBeen watching you for hours!!!!! Koach!!!!!!! You should be well to 120!!!!!
I used to be you. Cannot do as I used to but I still try. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You make very nice videos! Love the reality checks! Just wondering, do you think we could sub ricotta cheese for cottage cheese?
ОтветитьHi Sonya...I like your videos alot... and like your style... love from Pakistan
ОтветитьIt very nice.
ОтветитьHi Sonya! Love to watch your channel. The chocolate when you initially were melting it seized because of the moisture. Sometimes you can save it with some shortening. Love that you made something out of the chocolate still ❤️
ОтветитьYour chocolate seized because a little water got in it. It’s easy to save - just add a tablespoon or two of water or other liquid and it should be fine.
ОтветитьYou go girl....not giving up.....im 👏 proud.....came out 👍 great....everything looks delicious
ОтветитьHi Sonya! I used to own my own Chocolate shop where I created my own hand dipped chocolates. You cannot get any moisture in the chocolate as you are tempering it (melting and bringing to a certain temperature to be ready for dipping) or the chocolate will seize. You weren't having trouble melting it - the chocolate got water in from floating in the pot and it seized. At that point you really needed to throw it out and start over. Tempering chocolate is like making meringue...very easy to ruin it. We are all on a journey learning from one another. My youngest son (we are Christian) is engaged to a lovely Jewish girl so I watch you to learn ways to make my soon to be daughter in law feel welcomed into our family by incorporating both our beliefs, so thank you for teaching me! I hope in return I was able to assist you! Hanukkah Sameach!
Ответить🤔 wondering if a plant based milk such as almond or coconut or soybean can be used to make the gravy for the meat dishes? Plant based milk is kosher from my understanding from the dietary laws mentioned in the Torah/Talmud when its not from an animal such as sheep, goat or cow.
ОтветитьWater seizes chocolate.
Ответитьmelted butter in with choclate it melts better
ОтветитьHi, Is it melting chocolate?
ОтветитьThe hot coco bombs look perfect!!!
ОтветитьI can't wait to try the cottage cheese donut recipe....looks so easy to make and delicious!! never would have thought to make that kind of donut, thanks for sharing these ideas and your happy accidents 😉 I've always wanted to try cocoa bomb's, thanks for the inspiration!
ОтветитьJob WELL DONE!
ОтветитьYay! I was waiting for this video!! Thank YoU!
