Could be a faulty rubber gasket in a valve.
ОтветитьI had this in the UK.
We have a water tank in the loft, and it was the ballcock mechanism that had got clogged up with limescale. Whole house would vibrate.
It’s occur after my neighbor reconstructed their toilet ,after that I can’t sleep every time they decide to take a bath
The worst things is they always do it at 2,3,4am!
Now they said everything is new and refuse to fix it
Fuck polish
Ah yes pure safety
WATER PIPE NEXT TO THE OUTLET
Thanks for the video. I have the same humming sound issue. The humming issue started about 7 days after installing a new watts water pressure regulator. The water pressure was about 50 psi. I adjusted the pressure to zero by loosening up the valve all the way down, adjusted the pressure back up to 40 psi and then the humming issue was gone. But about 10 days later the humming vibration came back again. I did the same adjustments and the humming vibration sound was gone. Humming comes on whenever any cold water is turned on any faucet. I'm still convincing the plumber who installed this water pressure valve that the PRV might be bad and humming might be caused by the PRV. Humming does not come on when using hot water or using garden hose water.
ОтветитьHunny call the plumber I'm too busy watching Plummer videos on you tube........
Ответитьi have the same problem, it not they all the times but more often very secary when the pipes vibrate, it happens when i turn the taps on, a mean any tap in the house, the vibrate even happends it self without turing the tap on, would like to gets some seriouse advice please
ОтветитьI once had a house in the Brentwood section of Long Island, it seemed like every time we turned on something in the house, a loud terrifying vibrating sound would come up. While I was sleeping, at nighttime, that same sound came up and I heard a cracking sound afterwards.
ОтветитьThanks for this video. Such an easy fix.
ОтветитьKeep smoking !!!😂😂😂
ОтветитьI’m having the same humming sound that comes on and off randomly in my apartment, mainly in the early morning and late afternoons into the night. I’ve tried shutting the main water line outside behind the building off a few times to see if that would stop the humming sound but it doesn’t stop. Could it still be the PRV if I’ve turned off the main water line? The sound is coming from my living room wall not near the kitchen or bathroom. The sound is driving me nuts!
ОтветитьHad same humming sound coming from the walls in my house. After almost an hour of investigating and searching on you tube, I found the the cause. The water to the garden hose had been left on for a couple of days. After turning the water off, the sound went away. What a relief.
ОтветитьI have the same problem, I notice it when I used the laundry ! It’s driving me NUTS!!!! can someone assist
ОтветитьJust Hwondering, Hwhy do you pronounce it like that?
ОтветитьDon’t do drugs brah
ОтветитьThe low frequency may indicate there is a long line that has formed a resonant system with the value. I assume it is only the cold side. You may want to go to an end point of a longer accessible pipe and put a water hammer arrestor or a larger later hammer arrestor. If the beat frequency is constant this is probably the cause.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. The humming here starts in the bathroom upstairs when running the kitchen sink hot tap downstairs, but doesn't start until the kitchen sink tap is turned OFF. Plus I went out without any of the taps turning on or off and the humming was there when I got in. Any advice would be helpful thanks, but will get water board in to check the pressure. Thanks again for the video.
ОтветитьThanks for the video and all the comments. I have a similar problem.
ОтветитьDo you have a smart water meter?
ОтветитьSo is it fixed? How?
ОтветитьYour pressure reducing valve has gone bad. You need a new one.
ОтветитьI just moved into an apartment a week ago and having the same thing!! On top of the noisiest refrigerator.. Im going insane! The maintenance guy did open up the hall ceiling to get to the HVAC/water thingy.. which in all my years renting Ive never seen it in that spot.. because I had no hot water. Now everytime I flush it makes that loud noise and turning on the shower doesnt stop it anymore. And as of today, the heater motor vibrates then clunks when it shuts off. Crap!!?? Im becoming that tenant who has many complaints. At least, knock on wood, I got the carpet beetles under control. I cant take anymore stress.
ОтветитьThe humming pipes are making a weird noise
Ответитьim having this same humming issue and i am on a well and have a boiler for heat.
ОтветитьIt's an old video, but helped lots people-at least me. Thanks for suggestion in the comments.
ОтветитьWorst video ever
Ответитьmy apartment complex is doing that now. the noise is really unsettling
Ответитьwhy does it only make noise at night??
ОтветитьExpansion tank.........
Ответитьthat electrical socket next to the plumbing is that safe?
ОтветитьIts humming because it doesn't know the words
ОтветитьThis is a very funny video. Thats very crappy plumbing.
ОтветитьChange your bypass line for the water softener. Those stainless steel lines can cause buffering in the line. I used to hear the same sound with gas lines when the flow is too high.. It's like one of those things that they used during the world cup when you spin it around it makes a noise.
Ответитьthis is clearly insight the wall it looks like pipe clips came of and making the noise
ОтветитьOne of your isolation valves is faulty. Seals are worn. Causing vibration as water travels through the system. Replace faulty/ old ISO valves
Ответитьit is possible the water pressure control valve is faulty. I had mobile home 45 years no regulator and no humming. put in water pressure control valve and got humming. haven't changed valve yet.
ОтветитьI have a same vibration problem,I changed water tank fill valve,my problem is fixed.
ОтветитьThis post is awesome!! Totally helped us figure out what the humming (loud) sound was in our wall. Turns out it was the toilet. Whew! We were worried it might be electrical in the wall but thanks to your post it wasn't and we saved a lot of money by not calling an electrician or a plummer. THANK YOU!!
ОтветитьI'm collecting plumbing sounds for a music project. This sounds like a synthesizer drone. Great.
Ответитьgreat tips here. learned a lot from this thread thanks!
ОтветитьTry fitting a shock arrestor to the system, but befor that get a hose and conect cold and another cold water taps together and turn them on. The high presure should get rid of the hammer. You also should check if it's a pump on you supply to boost your pressure.
Ответитьwe have a similar problem, our water board is conducting work in the area and we have had dirty water over the last 12hours. U sound just like chef John.....
ОтветитьI'm experiencing the same problem with a toilet in my basement. I think it's related to the ballcock. It doesn't hum if I hold it up. Gonna try to see if I can fix it myself. As a female, I'm not good with these things at all but hate to get ripped off by calling someone. I also have a toilet upstairs that sounds more like a small bullhorn. House 16 yrs old. Thanks for sharing this.
Ответитьat least you admit it as a man that you yourself had to call a plumber!! but in the end it was a not that expensive to fix but it could have gotten worse! GOOD JOB! I wish my dad was like that.
Ответить2012-04-18 udpate...(final) I spoke with the people from Watts (maker of the PRV) and they gave me some good advice on replacing the PRV. I went to a plumbing supply house and bought a new brass Watts PRV for about $50. Installed it today, and the noise is gone. Now the pressure stays pretty much constant regardless of whether water is running or not. Case closed.
Ответить2012-03-22 Update... I noticed that the vibration is strongest between the main valve (next to the water softener) and the PRV (next to the street). I could definitely feel the vibration at the PRV (as well as at the above mentioned valve). When I flush the toilet (my test tool), the water pressure goes to about 40 psi (while the tank is refilling). When done, the pressure always goes back to about 74 psi, regardless of how I adjust the PRV. (Watts N45B M1) Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.
