You just need to remember the treble clef’s FACE. When the note’s position is the same (but in the bass clef), its name is just 2 notes after. Example: if a note’s name (under the treble clef) is C, then, suppose you change the clef into bass now but the note’s position remains the same, this note will be called E under the bass clef. C—>D—>E. Count 2 notes.

the real best way to memorize notes is to know the first 7 letters of the alphabet not good cows have boyfriends or whatever

Thank you. I use to major in music education but I had a bad head injury and a lot of basic information was lost so this is a refreshing channel to trigger the memories lost.

Wouldn't it be easier to read music if the letter names and position of the notes were the same on both the treble clef and bass clef? If Guido d'Arezzo had thought more about it one thousand years ago, he could have easily arranged for this by adding one more line at the bottom of the bass clef and one more line at the top of the treble clef. Then the notes on the bottom line of both staffs would be E, exactly two octaves apart. Likewise the notes on the top line of each staff would be A, again just two octaves apart.
Every-Good-Boy-Does-Fine-Always would name the six line notes on each staff and FACEG (not a word, but so what) would name the five spaces between the lines.
