Does RimWorld with Friends have Benefits?

The problem with Rimworld Multiplayer mod is that it isn't compatible with most mods. And when somebody asks me how many mods I usually use, I don't let this person finish its sentence and just answer "YES"

would it work to make a seperate colony? so each would have their own maybe next to each other so you can quickly send each other resources, fighters etc?

I love your breakdown of the feeling of the rimworld multiplayer mod, but it makes me wonder how this would play out with just a few more mods, bad hygiene, CE or Rimworld of Magic come to mind, they really open up the chances for ridiculous things and awesome tales to come together.

You 2 should have a Phogs Date Night, pretty awesome game to play together (Day 9 of asking).

I would love to see you two play project zomboid. The multiplayer struggle to survive in simulated zombie apocalypse would be quite interesting to see.

When I played with my girlfirend, we change the starting conditions to have 6 colonists and more supplies. Upon landing one of us would immediately create a caravan and move a few tiles over to start a new colony. This way each player can have his own colony, but you can send each other caravans to trade or help out with fighting.

Other suggestions: Subnautica, Hollow Knight, Noita, Archipelago Multiworld

"We'll get the tribal start instead to get more colonists" just to point out you can also edit the scenario at the start to change the number of colonists. Character editor mod and Prepare Moderately are also great. (Avoid prepare carefully, it cause issues when creating pawns and they can break the late game. Even if the mod basically does nothing after the first 5 seconds.)
With that you won't need to go for tribal start which has really bad research and slows everything even more. If you have the DLC (and since you're roleplayers) a fluid ideoligion could be used to decide how your colony evolve.

Oh so that mod actually works properly now? I played it when it was new and it worked terribly.

I like the idea of using the RimWorld multiplayer mod to do an 8-player or so Hardcore run (no recruiting new colonists), assuming there's a content creator with that many friends who will follow the rules, similar to the group Minecraft hardcore playthroughs that are around, but much more likely to die eventually, more of an endurance test really. Or maybe a 'semi-competitive' game where two teams have one half of the map and have to deal with what happens there, though you'd probably want another mod to halve the raid sizes in that case.

but the first thing in my head is the Ussr theme playing.

I just remembered/relaized that Pikmin as a series would be perfect for this channel. Its got a blend of min/maxing and cutness that seems like it was made for both of your playstyles.

I think theres even a mutiplayer mod of 2 floating around. Probably why mods of all things made me think of it. But Pikmin 3 has a co-op mode built right into the Switch port that would be perfect. (Plus 3 would be a lot easier to get into the series with than 2.)

Granted I'm bias but i think any of the 4 games would be a fair starting point, except for 2 since it builds off Pikmin 1's plot. Plus Pikmin 2 is not for the faint of heart, as certain parts of it feel like a Kazio level with the way certain caves are designed.

But hey, I personally would love to see any of these games here.

Idk if it's a seperate mod, but u can have two separate colonies as well. With 8 people, u can just have 4 different colonies where a pair work in each of them
