I’m guilty of this. I drink my coffee practically when it’s out the kettle. Over the years of drinking really hot coffee your mouth and throat become desensitised and you don’t even winch.
ОтветитьDr. Mike stoops to new level of cringe clickbait borderline quackery.

ОтветитьNow if I can just let my pizza cool before eating it.
ОтветитьI call this is a myth
Because the issue here is not the beverage but the temperature and most of us have hot dinners, so if you can drink something hotter than 60c like coffee at 80c chances are you also eat food at similar cooked temperatures
It's the opposite for my grandma..... she always told us "Drink it as hot as you can it's good for you."
ОтветитьLuckily, I'm from the Southern United States and drink Iced Tea
ОтветитьWho wants a drink/food that is over 100? U would burn yourself.
ОтветитьThe objectivity can also be a source of reassurance. When you hear "don't drink hot drinks", you can get worried because "hot" is pretty vague. But I just tested my method of preparation and found out that 145 Fahrenheit has me put it down because "it's way too hot". 140 was about where I could start drinking it comfortably. And, of course, it's only getting cooler after that point.
So, while "don't drink hot beverages" can be disconcerting for tea, coffee, and cocoa drinkers, "don't drink it at over 140 Fahrenheit" and especially "don't drink 3 cups of it at over 140" is less intimidating. You don't have to wait for your beverage to feel cold to avoid the risks.
I’m at a loss to understand why they give you hot water for your tea or coffee on the rounds, WHEN YOU ARE IN HOSPITAL
