ОтветитьI just did this on a 2009 Chevy Traverse the freon was so low that the compressor would not come on did the paperclip trick put two cans of freon and a pressure gauge is just barely in the green on the gauge will get another can or 2 wouldn't have no idea how much money I just saved myself but would probably be $100 or more for sure a big thanks for the video helped me alot
ОтветитьWill the refrigerant go in without the compressor on AND when it gets to the right pressure will the compressor start......what if the system is depleted of all refrigerant and you are just putting on a new compressor? Will running the compressor without any refrigerant ruin it?
ОтветитьSo I've got a question on that. You jump the relay like that with the vehicle off correct and then as soon as you turn it on it should make it engage but you will not hear any kind of click as soon as you insert that paper clip with the vehicle off correct?

ОтветитьThnks. May need to do this to check my ac not working after car battery replacement. System is dead. Reconnected battery. Same. Ill check relay and fuses. Anything else to check for if ac fails after battery replace? Btw. I can connect 12v to the compressor clutch side of relay to force voltge there if need be, right?
ОтветитьAfter my car sat for a while and i finally got it to a mechanic to fix the alternator i got it back with nothing but hot air blowing. My ac used to be AMAZING. Hubs says the ac compressor clutch thingy isnt doing its thing. He got the can to refill it b4 he knew this and the damn pressure was TOO HIGH. csn he just let it all out and redo it or should i get a new fuse. I need a new car
ОтветитьI did this to get the ac clutch engaged, but when I checked the freon it was at the minimum green level which should be enough, but is still blowing hot (just outside air in not heat), not sure what else to do

thats how it works for gods sake. In most cases if there is little freon and compressor still working but hot air.. but if there is freon and its not working ! u need replace compressor

ОтветитьDoes the key have to be on "on" position or on "running" position to get this test right ... i have the key on off position and there is no sound or clutch engaging

ОтветитьGreat Advice... I didn't know what was wrong with AC system. This technique allowed me to get the Clutch engaged. And since I had a can of refrigerant, I bought thinking it just needed a charge, I added the can to system. With one can I felt I might be getting cool air. Ran to auto store for another can... added just a little from 2nd can and YES!!! I have cold air. Thanks so much!!

ОтветитьI have a kia Sportage 2014! In the mornings whenI start my car and the a/c the compressor clutch wont kick in. After I run the car for about 10 minutes or so the compressor kicks in! Pls advise!

ОтветитьWhat I'll do is I'll take for example the windshield wiper relay normally they are the same relay I'll take out the relay and put it in the AC relay as long as the numbers match they are the same relay then turn on the AC and see if the AC clutch comes on or not if that relay is working on the windshield wipers for example then it will work on the AC clutch so I just take one that's exactly the same number see where it goes and I will swap out the relays and see if the relay is good

ОтветитьJust add refrigerant until the low pressure switch is satisfied and the compressor will safely start. No bypassing of the compressor protection is warranted to charge a system with low refrigerant . No harm done if enough refrigerant is added before compressor damage occurs.

ОтветитьWhat happens when you try to fill without the clutch engaging? I realized after watching the video that the clutch was not engaging but was able to fill? Is it a thing that the system can be charged but there is an issue due to the clutch not engaged when filling?

ОтветитьI have the same problem, new dryer, ac compressor, power going to try e compressor, low sensor works, but when I cross over the relay the clutch still won’t engage, any thoughts? I’m stumped at this point
ОтветитьWhy don’t you have enough refrigerant? Was there a leak? I though it was a closed system. I’m trying to figure out if I have same problem or if it’s my clutch that is bad and I need a new compressor?

Ответитьwow cant believe it was a dam fuse. I changed everything and it was a fuse. I always check fuses lol.
ОтветитьWhy would they design the compressor clutch in such way? There should be a manual alternative to engage it without using paper clips or jumper cables.
ОтветитьUnfortunately, the compressor replay for my 2012 Nisson Quest is under (and part of) the fuse panel, and isn't serviceable. The want you to buy the whole panel I guess.
I want a HORSE! 🐎 To hell with cars and the cost to keep them running.
