How to Find a Lost Cat

My cat ran out today and I’ve been restless. I’ve been looking all over our block just trying to see if he is around. Please pray for me for him to shop up! I feel so helpless and powerless. All i can hope for is for him to come back.

What shelter will keep a found cat for months? Is that a reality? I was sure that if my cat was lost and picked up, brought to a shelter that they wouldn't hold onto it that long. (Mine are chipped, so hopefully if it happened I'd get them back immediately after they're found & scanned)
But do they eventually put them up for adoption or ... worse?

My cat had went to out to play. I let him out daily. He always comes back. That evening he didn’t come home. I waited and waited. When the morning came he still didn’t come home. He’s been gone for almost a month now. I miss him so much. I have searched the animal shelters and put up posters, nothing

I thought my kiki would come back she has ran away before in December and someone found her we got her back.. February this had happened again. I thought she would be back again …. It’s now June.

My cat has been missing for 15 hours, i really wish from the buttom of my heart that he will come back to us somehow, he's been living with us for almost 5 years, he's part of our life and our heart, we cant live without him, I really wish he comes soon😭

UPDATE: omg we just found him at our basement somewhere very very little that we looked like 20 times but didn't see him, i wish every single one of you guys find your cat eventually❤ all this wasn't possible without god and its blessings❤

The 3 pets I found was because of a few things that help. Familiar area hiding places, rooftops, familiar sounds, your car, your voice, opening up a can of food. Staying exactly at the last place, or within earshot. Searching at night because it's quiet, and no people walking around, just you calling their name. My cat stayed under the front car in a car sales lot for 18 days only for me. They are survivors.🎉 Good luck.

*😿*♥️ THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO IS PHYSICALLY SEARCH ON FOOT AT NIGHT WITH BRIGHT  FLASHLIGHTS!😸💙

THE REASON NIGHT SEARCHES ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE-

Cats that are afraid (and cats that are injured) will seek areas of concealment such as under a deck, under a house, under a porch, or in heavy brush and since they will not meow (meowing would give up their location to a predator) this makes finding them during the day difficult and oftentimes impossible!

Thus, this is the reason night searches with BRIGHT BEAM FLASHLIGHTS is the most effective because a light shining in a cats eyes that is hiding in the dark, makes their eyes glow revealing their hiding spot!

Take the flashlight and look SLOWLY and methodically under and in bushes, porches and under and up and under cars. If you go too fast and your cat looks your way then away again, you will miss the glowing eyes.

And because they are so great at hiding in tiny places, simply bending over and looking under cars, porches, bushes etc may not be good enough! You need to look low, in every even remotely possible hiding spot. You will have to get on your knees or even your belly while shining the flashlight slowly scanning the area. Your Cat may be under a car, but you may not see him if you just bend over and look because they often go up towards the engine and off of the ground.

Remember, because kitty is terrified and likely will not come out on his own, you will have to physically go in/under wherever he is to retrieve him.

I lost my kitty yesterday night, it's been 24 hours and still she has not come back yet
I just wish that wherever she is, she'll be fine and she'll find way back home... I'll be waiting for her.

I’ve been looking for you since you ran away. I know I haven’t searched thoroughly because if I did, I’d find you. You always know your way back home, but it’s been 14 days. You’re usually gone for three days, but now it’s different.

I blame myself for not finding you sooner, especially when there was no typhoon. Now it’s sunny and bright again, but how could that be when you’re not here? I’ve searched in the daylight but there’s no sign of you. I bought your favorite snack and walked around at night; I even talked to two community cats and asked them to help you find your way back home, but still, no you.

I’ll keep looking for you until you find your way home to us. Please, Cali, come home.

I heard this and within an hour my cat was back. Idk it works or not but this gave me relief!!! I prayed a lot too.

Always leave a bowl of cat food outside the door if your cat gets out. She may come back while u are sleeping or at work but if she doesnt have food o water after a couple of days she may have to start venturing further away in search of food. Or worse she may climb into a dumpster and not be able to get back out and end up at the dump.

in my experience i never lost an indoor cat however the outdoor cats could go missing as long as 2 days at most once a week has passed i know something bad really happened as my outdoor cats i know all their limited hangouts as i live in a busy populated area they consider my outside their safe space i can only think of 3 reasons what happened they either get mauled to death by neighbors dog consumed poison or toxic water or got killed by an abusive human

My cat is a indoor cat she's spay I send her out on weekends to stretch her legs now she refuses to come home she's around but wen sees us wen we call she bolts can someone help is to how to get her back home 😢😢

I’ve watched a lot of cat missing videos. My cat went missing yesterday morning or the day before in the evening.
I tried the following tips:
- 2 cups of water mixed with some tuna (she likes tuna)
- Creating a track to my home with my smell (clothing and my most used fragrance)
- Sprayed some catnip around the house
- Asked everyone I saw around my house (especially because some people were ripping off my flyers)
- Placed her transport box with some blankets from me in front of the house
- Searched in the morning and evening near by my home and in my house (so it was quite) and used a flash light

And to give you hope.
I found her already today 🤍
She was in our basement, hiding under the stairs. I found her in the evening and !important! with the flashlight (otherwise I would’ve never seen her).

Step 1 Microchip your cat step 2. Buy a Tractive tracker. Cost $35. Then about $6.00 a month step 3. Buy a collar. Step 4. Buy a tag. Put cats name and your cell phone on the tag step 5. Put tag on collar and put collar on your cat. Then do all the other stuff this guy said

From experience where my indoor cat escaped our deck/catio and I was able to get her to return one night. I sat out on my deck (where she had escaped from). A fenced in deck, where I removed the door to allow her to return to the house from the deck. I called her name for 3 hours 9pm to 12Am while walking around my yard. Thinking she was probably in my yard or neighbors. She returned through the deck pathway into the house back door at approximately 12AM. This is a great video. I recommend calling out to your cat. My cat has been lost for 2 days now. He slipped out of our garage since someone didn't close it all the way. We almost had him that night because our neighbor's dog found him, but the dog scared him before we could find him. I've never cried so much in my entire life. We got posters up, things on the front and back of the house for him to smell and have been searching the neighborhood everyday. Not giving up, but I really want him back.

Edit: Forgot to come back to this!! My cat came back after 10 days of missing! Came back in the middle of the night through a door I left open. Cannot emphasize enough! Don't give up!

I have a gps tag on my cat and the damn thing isnt working right now. I know she has to be nearby, but still im worried. On the tag, i have her name, address, phone number, and the words "I'm Microchipped!" in case someone wants to scan her or she ends up at the shelter. I suggest everyone gets a GPS tag for their cat. And please get them microchipped.

We took our cat to the vet on Saturday. He’s been with us for 8 months and hasn’t had the need to go to the vet before since we already had 3 cats when he came to us so we had all the medication he needed. He is used to the outside since he is an inside-outside cat. As we were going to the vet he got really scared in the car and as soon as we got out of the car he ran off in front of the vet’s office. He has been missing for almost 3 days. The distance between the vet and our home is less than 2 miles. Me and my family have been passing by with the car and also on foot so we can leave our smell.Does he have a chance of finding his way back home?

We're missing our precious kitten Marby Lee😢 She was indoor and outdoor with spending time with her mom who likes mostly outdoors. Yesterday noon we noticed the access ramp to the kitchen and other things moved out of their place and my garden basket full of tools were on the concrete under the the carport. All the cats were nowhere but they were back later in the late afternoon but not our kitten😢. I feel scared and sad. Please pray that God will help us to find our kitten alive and we'll. I hope to God yall find your pets as well.

It’s the third morning that I wake up without my little Darchin. absolutely frustrated, he was the only good thing going on in my life.
