New Battery & Smoke Detector Keeps Chirping How To Fix

Does not work. NEW smoke detector. NEW battery. Did this several times with alternative batteries. Kept on chirping. Going psychotic.

I had given up hope, but this worked! Finally can go back to sleep!

Did this several times while changing batteries. Did not help two of my chirpers which belong in the junk pile.

I did same happened too. I was trying to fix but it won’t. I was trying to buy it but I saw it was 10 years warranty.
I googled to find number to call.
Mine was 7years past so they said they would send new one. I am waiting for new one to replace..

Got the exact opposite. Not working at all after new batteries went in

He just forced the door close instead of pressing the thing that the battery presses to let the door close LOL.

When I hold the button the detector starts beeping at full volume, after a minute of holding it down I just couldn't bear it anymore

Disconnect from power (ceiling), take out battery, hold reset button long time, put in new battery, reconnect, Im good.

still didnt work..

Your alarm lasts for about 7 years before it dies

Here's what happened to me. Bought a brand new First Alert 9120B. It kept chirping one minute apart after I installed it. I thought it was a bad, brand new GP battery that was sent with it. Battery, expiration date was 07/2024, I tested it with a high dollar Fluke Multi-meter and found it had 9.81 Volts. Good battery i thought so i tried it several more times. Then I put a new Duracell battery in it and now it works fine. No clue what is wrong with the GP battery that tested good at 9.81 volt.

I just bought a new detector and it came with a 10 year battery.

Didn't work. Have a brand new alarm and battery but it just keeps bleeping and nothing works

Anyone ran into a scenario where the beeping is coming from the ceiling and not the detector itself? I replaced my detector with a new one hoping it stops the 5 beeps but to no avail. Anyone?

Nothing is working, New alarm , new battery blown on it etc = still chirping!!!

Great tip about removing and discharging the battery, but how left off the bit about how to unplug the thing!

I pushed the button without taking the battery out and it worked.

This did not work for me, still chirping but maybe it will reset after 15 chirps like they say.

I changed it with 3 new batteries and still chirping

Yep started chirping at 3 am, I took it out, in the morning, I'll go get a new battery
