back in 2001 the head of sales at the computer chip place I was working at bought one of these brand new.. a few months later it would not start lol... a flatbed showed up from the dealership to tow it away as it would not start in the parking lot no matter what they tried. everybody in the place was making fun of him for buying such an expensive lemon lol. The BMWs of many many decades ago were wonderful and reliable vehicles, nowadays they are for people who want to waste money on looking fancy and hoping that it will last for the 3-month lease lol. why are all the plastic pieces on BMWs so quick to dissolve nowadays? you would think if you spent a lot on a car, it would be at least somewhat decent quality.. as most mechanics realize the Tesla's are a prime example of that.. they ask a high ticket price and they are literally rolling piles of Chinese junk with great performance and a pretty interesting thermal system. oh they also come with a nice touch screen lol

Look at the styling of this 7 series and compare it to today's 7 series. BMW needs to hire new stylists.

My parents had 2 of the e38 "base" model 740i's. Unbelievable cars. Like a Lay-Z-Boy on wheels but it could handle better than anything, and would go like stink too!

My 2001 Cadillac Seville STS has them, in the rear roof line before the window is a small device, it contains green lights that change as you near an object one green and chime just shifted into reverse.
Second green light dot getting closer, yellow dot closer yet red as get closer the red will flash too close flashes quickly and beeps are emitted.

Add has rain sense wipers must one wipe and done run into down pour turn on automatically to high speed
The sport stabila track helps guide at highway speeds for right turn rear right brake slightly. ,same for left.
Sport steering is very light in parking lots, low speed notrmal feel highway faster you go heavier steering feel gets
The seat is power all head rest to seat, with 2 heat settings, with massge and air bag inflates and deflates is wierd as it gets.

I know I am only 18, but have a very fond appreciation for timeless cars and don't think thats only "new cars" can look good. Unlike people my age who want the latest stuff.

I am more a Mercedes fan, but I must say, BMWs of this era were among the most beautifully designed. Timeless. And they dont make ‘em like this anymore… and this 7 series is one of them.. gorgeous car.

Fun fact about the navigation: it absolutely does still work if you buy the new cd map. I use the navigation on my 1st gen X5 and that thing is solid. Never steered me wrong like Google Maps does.

I owned a 2000 740il. That thing was fun but it broke down and I didn't have the money or means to rebuild it. I wish I could've. 😭 It was fast, handled amazing, and it was gorgeous.
