He should've won the triple crown. Damn was he close! so very close!!! Ohtani had a nearly equal year, but Judge had it last year.
I think it's a very good thing for Ohtani that it takes that kind of year from a hitter to beat him for MVP. Think about the standards being set here. It took a 62 HR guy getting on base almost 1/2 the time and OPS'ing off the charts with a 300+ BA to beat Ohtani's regular "good" year.

What I find crazy is how hard he slid in the playoffs. Especially what the Astros did to him in the ALCS 1 hit, like 1 or 2 close calls on home runs. At least if the stats I’m looking at and my Memory are correct.

With all of the advanced analytics now, there's no way he gets close to 62. But even with his regression, he will still have very good numbers.
